Update on valvoline & my cx-7

My car is fixed, here was the problem:

I picked it up at the mazda deal on Saturday, the guys said valvoline bent the main support crossarm, it was basically pushed up against the exhaust manifold.

They updated the software and also said the tires were under inflated by 4 pounds.

I drove down to valvoline, spoke with the manager told him they had messed it up when they rotated the tires and he was lucky mazda covered it under their warranty. The manager said something like 'yeah I don't think we have ever worked on one of your car before', I was like, 'it does not matter, your staff should be trained to work on anything that comes through the door'.

Anyway, he said he was sorry which is pretty much what I wanted to hear from him. he got my number and said he would pass it along to the regional manager whatever that means.

My shifting from 6th to 5th on the highway is gone as well, and my gas milage is back up. I got about 325 miles on a tank of gas (80% highway) which is A LOT better than the <250 I had been getting the last month or so.

Hard to believe you get 325 miles on a tank of gas but good for you if that is true.

I would have asked Valvoline shop for compensation like free oil changes. They screwed up and you had proof.

I got 325 to the tank by driving 60-65 mph on the highway with no traffic (I driving into work at 4am), tough to drive that slow but I wanted to see if my milage would go up, cuz the last month or month 1/2 I had been getting <250 miles and that was driving 65 mph or so.

I'm just glad mazda fixed what valvoline screwed up
