Turbo install this weekend

Currently reading Maximum Boost, by Corky Bell. My Vdub guy gave it to me for some reading material at work. Figure it'll help me understand more about the workings of this setup. Knowledge is power kids! :p

just remember to use the knowlege as a tool, not a bible. technology changes, the book hasn't. I dont know how many times ive seen people swear the book is the end of all turbo information.

Definitely a great read so far. A lot of good info and a lot of s*** that just goes right over my head, lol. Math was never my strong suit, so all the equations throw me for a loop.

Most definitely. I take everything I read w/ a grain of salt, this won't be any different.

Yea, weather's been rediculous, but seems ok now. Goin out now to start working again...

OK, so the weather wasn't too bad. Pretty chilly and spurts of rain, but nothing major. The oil pan is finally off, it actually wasn't too bad, just had to find a good angle. As my vdub buddy and I were about to mount the exhaust mani/turbo/spipe, he decided to check the studs connecting the spipe to the turbo. Good thing he did, one was snapped off and just stuck in there. We drilled it out, retapped it, then went to the depot and got a bolt and some locking washers and she's good as new. Got all that mounted in the car. Hooked up the oil feed line, ran the water feed, but I'm waiting on the banjo fitting and bolt. Test fitted the SRI and hotpipes, found out the stock p5 radiator fans are in the way. Took those out, getting the right ones from Tony. On to the pics!

More to come tomorrow, the banjo bolt and fittings will be here tomorrow. I should have the new fans from Tony as well.

where did u get your banjo fitting from?...its impossible to find one in the auto stores here...

Eh, kinda sort of, but not really, lol. It's def moving right along, hopefully soon! I'm off to buy some s***, I'll keep everyone updated.

Drilled holes in the little space under the change holder for my turbo timer. Ran the wires and put it in place, but didn't wire anything up yet. Installed the front mount. Trimming the plastic water guards for the piping.

Finished trimming the plastic, installed most of the hardpipes. The hot side is completed and tightened, the cold side is tightened up to the pipe that goes to the tb. Still waiting for UPS w/ the banjo bolt and fitting for the water line before I can put the IM back on, then connect the last hard pipe. I had the SRI on, but waiting to tighten it down until after I get the radiator fans from Tony so I know everything's kosher. Pics to come, I'm goin back out to cleanup a few things.
