people with 3" exhausts, turbolifes, and SSFTC's dyno at like 205whp on 10psi with a dyno tune. an exhaust mani and a better tune does not equate to 50whp. sorry, but no.
i should clarify though: to get 250whp on the stock motor, a larger turbo doesnt just help, its necessary. you can probably squeeze about 225whp on the stock motor + stock turbo.
what would be cool is to see numbers from someone with a built motor at 14-15psi on the stock turbo. I bet they are making great numbers.
I doubt anybody that has the cash to go forged would want to keep the stock turbo lol. People almost always go with a 28rs at minimum.
bzzz wrong. HondaEat-R was forged on the stock turbo, for one. surely there are more.
and you have to remember - a lot of people go with a budget built shortblock if they blow a stock motor. they might not do head work or top-notch bearings, but theyll grab some forged internals for the rebuild just to know the motor can hold 250whp without any issue.
