I was wondering if anyone has installed the tripoint turbo on their MP3's? And do you think that the tripoint kit is a good one to go with or should I wait for the M2? thanks

All the kits available are complete. BEGI makes a good kit, so does Tripoint.
I don't know about the Aerodyne turbos, but if they have had reliability issues in the past, I can see why they would still have a bad name. Its easy to get a bad name, and hard to erase it.![]()
Look at Hyundai...Ever since they stopped using Mitsubishi parts in their cars, the reliability has gone up. Relatively of course, and that is comapring old Hyundais to the new ones.![]()

how many of those racing pros i've read about are using the tripoint system? most if not all of them if i remember correctly. i bet you they don't rebuild the turbo after every 100k of testing or racing.
hell, if anyone has read corky's book maximum boost, his project car was a nsx which he used two aerodyne turbos. so obviously he thinks they are pretty cool.
i believe they are very expensive tho which could be one of the main reasons that the begi kit doesn't use one. they also tend to be a bit small - i don't think they make one that'll economically flow as much as a 18psi t3 in 60trim but i could be wrong.
PhyschoMP3 - i guarantee that performace shop is completely over-spooling those turbos. i mean seriously - do you or does anyone else believe that a company could actually sell a product that failed at that rate?
i don't.
personally i believe it would be a lot better business for a performance shop to say the equipment was crap than to admit they either don't know what they're doing (ie choosing the wrong type of turbo for their application in the first place) or they just don't care. don't believe everything you hear from people who should know better.
