It might be fixable without totaling out. Are the rear doors affected? It looks like he didn't hit you with a ton of force...

rear doors are fine. hatch however wont open as is.
ive looked under the car and a portion of the unibody is bent behind the bumper where he hit me.
i should had stayed on the brakes before he hit me instead of trying to accelerate.

To hit that hard on a street that small with skid marks that long id say he was speeding. But +1 I doubt they will total it

I doubt it too. Also, claim injury to get extra cash. Me and my brother got spun in his Buick by a ford escort! Guy milked our insurance company for $24000, bc of an injury claim. But while we were waiting for cops, he can get out and throw a football around with his brother? So you can get away with it

But on a different note, Iif they dooo total it.... How much you want for your rims shipped to 44001? Lol

do u want it totaled? if you want it totaled, unpluck that fuel pump and flatten your tires. let em know that your car shut down, and it won't start. they'll think motor issues

looks like the rear bumper and hatch has to only changed out but if all the parts/labor cost more then the car its considered totalled by the insurance most of the time

Take a sledge hammer to the area behing the tail lights...that would be expensive to fix they'd declair it totaled...

I see he needs a new hatch, bumper cover, tail light, and the drivers side rear quarter panel needs to be fixed and painted. If you look above the tail light you can see the bow in the metal when the hatch hit it. Im sure there is a couple surprises under that bumper cover as well..

I don't think they will total it out. That looks to be roughly 2-2.5k worth of damage to me(I'm not a body guy). Then again it really depends on the damage they find once everything is ripped off. How is the roof up by the hatch hinges? If the Unibody is damaged i can see it being totaled out if high mileage.

I would love to have the roof rack if it has one, I can't see from the picture. Depending on your mileage totaled might be good. You don't want to keep this car?

I had a similar type accident. A guy backed into my parked P5 in a F350 Econoline Van. Hit the driverside quarterpanel and took out the light. They has to repair the Quaterpanel, bumper, and new tail light. Total cost.......$2445. This was a couple years ago. So I am guessing yours will be more expensive than that. Which the insurance may total out because most P5's arent really worth much more than that these days.

in my honest opinion, with the damage to the rear as it is and the damage to the unibody, the chances are very high they will total it.
if, as mentioned, you do wish it totaled, then you really should do as mentioned, flatten both rear tires and unplug the fuel pump at the tank.
if it wont start, coupled with the damage, they will definitely total it out.
