HI, i hit my top speed with my car yesturday when i was going to ohio i did 135mph then the govener kicked in :mad: , i was just wondering how fast did you people get youre car up to and is there eny whay to remove the govener ? thanks

cool didn't know the MP3 was governed i thought it was drag limited a governer is where the Engine shutsdown the Rpms drop as where the idle drops for the speed to as you keep on trying to accelerate but just won't. So i don't really know if the MP3 is governed or not but i have achieved 132Mph but just let off. That looks like you were at 128mph after you backed off.

I have a protege sedan ES and I've only gone 110mph, I haven't tried to push my car past that, do the protege sedan's have governers in them? I'm guessing they do. :'(

I'm just wondering how you had time to take a picture going that fast.....seeing as how your hands were on the wheel I'm guessing someone was in the car with you.....maybe you should have thrown them out ....reduce the weight.....you would have been able to go a weee bit faster!!!

At a sec i thought Terry was serious just cuz who he is. But then the naaawwwwwz gave it away.Anything is possible with Terry. Anyways i jahve hit 132-133 mph and it was scarey.

it seems we MAY end up in an age old debate/discussion again...HOWEVER...I am going to say it.....

the protege does NOT have a govenor.....a rev limiter, YES...an govenor...no....

and mathamatically you shouldn't have gotten to the rev limiter in 5th gear at 135......

so I am not sure what your car was doing.....if you just got to 135 and it wouldn't go any faster....that is because the drag on the car overcame the power it has and it couldn't accelerate anymore. as in it TOPPED OUT. nothing more.

I have been there, and done that. I think that we may have a fuel cut-off of some type (Rev-limiter), but a governer? I don't think so. I have had mine up to between 135MPH and 140MPH.

Only thing scary about going 120mph (or faster, for the rest of you) on a deserted highway is the occassional State trooper in his or her modified Trans-AM waiting down the road.

heres pic of my speedometer going just over 200 kmh before i ran into traffic took it my self later that day i got pulled over doing 105 km over but got it droped to just 49 over just have one suggestion don't race cops in unmarked cars and beat them they don't like that

You my friend are nut's if you took that picture by yourself going that fast, but i hope someone in the backseat took that or something, anyways it look like you were going 202kmh that's 126mph. Did you backoff or did it top-out.

I went like 127-128 mph and just like you ran into traffic...over here we got this two lane road called State Road 84 that runs parallel right next to our major highway (595) and I've never seen a cop on that road before anywhere close to where I live...but I have on 595 where I got pulled over once

this wasn't very fast.. i have gone faster before with 5 ppl in the car w/o any mods (IE intake) now i have a CAI and a custom catback, i will try to go faster on a deserted road later
