I am in France with my new TomTom system and am experiencing the following problems. The English voice over gives the names of French locations in a weird mispronunciation, which is confusing and distracting. Examples, keen for Caen and row on for Rouen. The system provides a choice of several French voices giving instructions in French with the correct pronunciation of place names. It even gives the choice of overriding this with mispronounced English voices! As this is a digital system, I cannot see why it could not supply directions in English and French voices inserted with correctly pronounced place names. Or is there a trick I'm missing?
I am presently following the French voice and instructions, I suppose this will improve my French.
When's out today using the option of the French computer voice. Alas, this was a French man speaking English with a heavy accent, very difficult to follow. So back to the French voice without English.
Further to the above, I find that the satnav is still saying that there is between 25 and 30 metres to go when I am level with a turning. Does anyone know how to re calibrate for better accuracy?
