Tire: Yokohama AVS ES100

Size: 205/40-17 and 204/45-17

Category: Ultra High Performance Summer

Review: Relatively cheap, VERY good in wet conditions, need to be warmed up before providing a good amount of dry grip, excellent treadwear

Recommend?: Yes

Tire: Kumho Ecsta 711

Size: 205/40R17

Category: High Performance Summer

Review: Great Price, Good Grip, Weak Sidewall, Wear-out Quick

Recommend: (direct) Hell NO!!!! Do not waste your money.

Man, I wish someone would have done this earlier. I just bought these tires last week. This thread would have been so much more helpful than the crappy reviews at TireRack and other online sources.

Tire: Yokohama Parada Spec2

Size: 205/40/17

Category: High Performance Summer

Review: Awesome dry grip, solid wet grip, good ride quality, nice and responive handling. I've only had these for a week so I have no clue on treadwear yet.

Recomend: So far, yes.

Tire: Nitto Neogen

Size: 215/35/18

Category: Ultra High Performance All Season

Review: All Season my ass, hydroplanes at about 50 with little amount of water on road, decent dry grip, lasted about 10k miles with little agresive driving

Recommend?: NO!!!

Tire: Nangking NS-2

Size: 215/35/18

Category: Ultra High Performance

Review: Relatively cheap, decent wet driving, decent dry traction, good thread wear

Recommend?: Yes, good cheap tire

Proxes 4

Tire: Toyo Proxes 4

Size: 205/50-15 V-rated
Price: $84 mounted/balanced

Category: Ultra High Performance All Season

Review: Relatively cheap, great in wet conditions including hitting deeper puddles, great in dry for an all season with a progressive breakaway, low noise, low squeal. Winter warning: stable at cruising speed but when icy or deeper snow the launch traction is low from standing starts and inclines are difficult.

Recommend?: Yes

I second that idea. Mods, this might be a good thread to sticky.

Tire: Kumho Ecsta Asx's

Size: 195/50-16 w-rated

Category: Ultra High Performance All-Season

Review: Very cheap tire on tirerack.com, great in wet conditions including driving through deeper puddles, great in dry season, great traction over all, cant really "hear" the tires. Winter warning: I wouldnt know because it doesnt snow in florida!
Recommend?: 100X better then the stock dunlops - didnt notice any difference in traction or grip on dry but a major difference in driving in rainy conditions.

Tire: Yokohama AVS ES100

Size: 205/40/16

Category: Ultra High Performance Summer

Review: Very good pricing on Tirerack.com, Excellent wet grip, good launching ability, and excellent dry grip once they're driven on for a few minutes to warm up. I have no idea on tread wear since I was in my "FWD burnouts are cool" stage

Recommend: Absolutely

Tire: Yokohama Parada Spec-II

Size: 205/40/17

Catagory: Ultra high Performance Summer

Review: These tires are okay. Great dry grip, but sketchy wet grip. I'm less than halfway through the tread so far and I've spun the tires in 5th at 70 mph a few times from the tires just hydroplaning on the highway. They have pretty good tread wear, but again, nothing special. I've had mine for about 15,000 miles and the front treads are about halfway down. The back are much better, probably 3/4 left. These are a little bit cheaper than the ES100's, but I would definatly reccomend AVS over these.

Reccomend: If you have other options look into them more closely. These tires can be found for very cheap at some places, and they're definatly not bad tires, I just have my reservations about them.

These tires are awesome. They are the best grip I have ever had!!! Only problem is that with semi-conservative driving the tread wears to slicks in less than 6 months. I have had to replace about every 3-4 months with aggressive driving. So, due to personal cash-flow, I had to buy cheaper longer lasting tires. They are by far the best (traction-wise) tires I have ever had. I thrashed my brand new (stock) motor mounts in a week.

Tire: Falken azenis sport rt-615

size: 215/40-17

category: max performance summer (?)

Review: Excellent tire. phenomenal dry grip. stands up to a track day or a canyon running day without complaint. Felt fine at 80 in the rain as long as there is no standing water. not noticably noisier than stock. moderatly priced (paid 525). I use them exclusively for spirited driving occasions, so i cannot comment on the treadwear milage, but i wouldnt expect much over 8k if used for your normal tires.

Tire: Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S

size: 205/50/16

category: ultra high performance all season

review: awesome tires...ive had them for about 7 months now and they are still just as good as the first day i had them. wet traction is a whole lot better than the stock dunlops and the treadwear is really good...dry traction is also better than stock and these things handle very well on the few canyon runs ive been on...

recommend?: most definitely

Tire: Fuzion ZR1

Size: 205/50-16 on stock 16x6 ES/Protege5 wheels

Category: Ultra High Performance Summer

Review: The cheapest UHP summer tire out there. The best value out there (see TireRack's UHP survey... they always place 4th or 5th in ratings, side-by-side with much more expensive tires). VERY sweet in wet conditions. Great in dry conditions. The only feel maxed out according my driving ability when I autocross them. And then, they are probably still decent tires. Excellent treadwear so far (320 rated.)

More on Fuzion brand. Yes, I originally thought it must be some cheap Chinese brand.... but they are Firestone tires. My Matercare/Firestone guy said he's match the TireRack price if I wanted more. The Fuzion brand is marketed towards the import (read: rice) crowd for a discount but they're really just a rebadged name brand. Supposedly their just cheap b/c Firestone is trying to get a foothold into the import market. Could and will go up in price eventually.

Recommend?: Yes

TIre: Yoko Parada Spec2

Size: 205/40/17 on 17x7 rims 40psi on all 4 corners

Category: Ultra High Performance Summer

Reveiw: Great treadwear. going on more than 20000km on the tires and the fronts are almost to the wear bar. Been on aggressive mountain driving and folding the sidewall once due to running a lower tire pressure(38psi). Great dry traction, good wet traction when new.

Recommend: Yes

Tire: BFGoodwrench KDW2 T/A (the weird looking tread)

Size: 215/45/17

Category: Ultra High Performance

Review: Only had then for like 3 to 4 thousand miles. Love them so far. Dry traction is incredible and wet traction is just about as good. I live in the mountains so i am on the curves pretty much daily. And these have been the best tires i have had so far. They do have some road noise at around 50 MPH but it goes away. And i am used to it now.

Recommend?: Yes

Tire: Dunlop FM901

Size: 215/45/17

Category: Ultra High Performance (i think)

Review: This tire is good for the aggressive daily driver. Wet traction was good for me...although i never really tried to do anything stupid in the rain. I autocrossed on them a few times...5...and they held up good for street tires. They were better than the stock potenzas.

Recommend?: If you are just a daily driver and not going to try to do the tail of the dragon and go as fast as you can then yes.

anyone think addin the price into the review would be good? because everyone recommends any of the tires and with the price in there people can choose easier. juts a thought.

Well, maybe a range since depending on where you go it can be $40 different each.
