Anybody swap out the potenza's that are on the car right now? I really dislike them, wet traction sucks. Im putting on Yokohama's today. $116.00 per tire, I hope they are worth it
which yokohama's are you going with ?
those potenza's aren't cheap....
so, i hoe you either sold them at a good price or finished them while doing some spirited driving.
here's a little tip. Anything with Bridgestone on it....is crap for everyday driving. I was really dissapointed when MAzda went from the dunlops to the bridgestones.
The only drawbacks to Azenis are the tire noise (if you care) and wet driving. They are GREAT in the dry and with wet ground, but have serious hydroplaning issues when in puddles or worn.
That said, I have a set of 225/45-17 Azenis going on MY car this Tuesday
Whoa! Bridgestones suck? Anyone ever drive on a Potenza S03 or drive an S2000 running S02s? Ever see the RE070 in action? All tire companies have crap tires. Bridgestone makes some of the best tires in the world for the auto enthusiast... it all depends on what you need out of your tire.
I personally don't like the RE040s... and have a problem in general with summer only tires that don't perform to certain standards. But I'd trade them in a minute for a set of S03s. Those tires are absolutely awesome wet or dry.
Redmption: So, what do you want for that used set of Bridgestone RE040s? How many miles are on them? I'm interested in them. Anyone know what shipping UPS ground is on tires?
They gave me $100 for the old tires. The new ones are dope too, they are good on the wet road, its raining right now, I cant wait to dry them on dry land.
Well the one freak ice storm / snow storm we have a year down here proved that they suck on the hard water.
However, I love these tires in the dry and with all the wet weather lately I havent had any episode that would make me lose confidence in them. I do argree if I lived up North I would most definitely have snow tires/ rims all winter.
So they do well in their intended role. That very narrow role sport tires occupy no M+S on them.
I was very impressed with the stock tires at the track. They gripped pretty well and didn't make too much noise. I'm even impressed by the way they handle on freeway onramps and other little city turns.
