Tinting...opinions needed

i really like the llumar stuff cause during the day, it looks really dark (relatively) but when the sun starts to go down, your car looks less and less tinted. if you come up to it, you still won't be able to see in, but just by looking at it, it's hard to tell if you're tinted or not, like the bottom pic as compared to the top. it's trippy stuff. and the tint actually takes on a bit of whatever color your car is. my friend's jag is that sea green or blue or whatever, and her tint looks like her car's color. i got mine on my dark blue and the tint has a hint of blue in it. it's truly trippy.

is that llumar stuff any more expensive? or is it about the same...i have heard good stuff about that brand from other people too...
YWM - I'm going to call the distributor in PA this morning and find out who in the Buffalo area does Llumar. I checked out their website http://www.llumar.com and it looks like high quality stuff.

It is actually pretty easy... it's just time consuming. What they do, is take an exacto knife ONLY to pull off a little bit from the top (so you can grab the film with your fingers), and then you just peel off the rest by hand. Like when you peel off an old sticker.
Then you take one of those scrubbing sponges (like the white 3M Scotch-Brite sponges... the green ones are too rough), with a little soap, and rub the adhesive off. That way you don't damage the defroster lines or scratch the glass. You must not scrub too hard though... just scrub normally BETWEEN the lines, and very softly ON the lines.
I know, because I had it done on my car three days ago, and I used the defroster last night, and it works perfectly. The guy who removed the old tint film told me how to do remove it (he showed me how) without damaging the tint.

The reason I'm asking is that the shop that did it gave me a lifetime warranty on the tint... and if I look closely and be very picky I can see some bubles and and a little dirt trapped under the tint... and I am debating if I should spend my time getting them to replace it or just let it go...LOS-323 said:

elias - I haven't gotten it tinted yet, but with a black car I know I'm asking to get pulled over. Cops would be surprised when there's a 31 year old inside, but they'd prob still write a ticket. And I'm not crazy about really dark tint anyway...but I'll have to see how dark 35% is.
I think the Llumar has a metallic finish, so that should look pretty good. I'm gonna hafta call them back because their distributor in PA took my info down but I haven't received a call back yet. Some people just don't know how to do business.....
