tinted tails

sorry this has probably been asked b4, but is this an overlay, or does using that paint stuff look this good?

That looks like Nightshades...not sure if Bat can make vinyl overlays to cover the whole tail like that (because of the curves).

That widebody kit looks like ass if you look closely...you can see the seam on the fender flare.

Ok, I see what you mean about the seem.
Then I would like a kit like that actually fit good!

its some spray on stuff. guess its translucent paint...bat made those vinyl overlays.

Night shades paint works great.

I have JDM tails now but here is how I did my stock tails.

Used vinyl to cover the circles and sprayed the whole tail

And here they are on the car

i used nite shade as well but i tinted everyrhing but the back up lights u may wanna pick up a lil can of clear coat as well cuz sumtimes the tint gets fogggy wen first appling it the clear coat makes a tun a diff here the link for pix of my tails www.cardomain.com/id/whatwagonmp5

thats what i used to tint mine too. but ive heard that testers makes a translucent paint used for windsheilds on car models that works just as good/better than niteshades and costs 1/2 as much (i paid $25 for one can after shipping). but i would recommend getting clear coat as well cuz the niteshades dries kinda dull and flat.

How much cans did it take to do both your tails like that??

a can and a half.... lay it on even but thick with lots of coats, thats the only way it glosses.

Can you make it not so dark by not putting on so many coats? Just tinted and not blacked out?

i have been planning on doing this and have the spraytint but i dont feel like having the cops mess with me anymore then they already do.... has anybody had issues with that? i know the spray is translucent but it takes away the reflective quality of the tail lights which is bad.......
