Time Mag POTY 1938-Hitler 2004-Bush

negative rep...now that is classy.

my intention in this thread was not to solve any of your problems, nor was it to win a debate.

I thank you though, you obviously know way more about this than I do and, like most people living in the midwest and the south, are apparently much more capable of determining how well equipped bush is to run the country and protect us against future terror attacks then the people living on the west coast and in the northeast in economically dominant areas (read: pays all the taxes to help you jackasses recover from hurricanes and the like) and the people who live near a vast majority of potential terror targets.
Clearly, living in charleston you would have much more to lose in say a nuclear strike on washington or NYC or boston or phili.....i mean charleston is right in the thick of it as far as targets go! Good thing you are the ones who chose the person to lead the country and allegedly protect the areas you dont live in. yeee-haw! lets keepin killin them a-RABS cuz they all look the same to us! if they aint americanized god fearing christians then they must be bad guys! booya!

i was actually going to give you negative rep about this, but I hadn't yet. I am still planning on doing so. Being called an idiot doesn't exactly cause me to like you.

Funny you say that, and give me further cause to believe in your ignorance. You apparently don't know that officers in the military are required to move around the country every 3 years or so. I am soon to move to New Jersey. However, I actually spend the first 25 years of my life in the Los Angeles area. Oh yeah, my daughter and the rest of my extended family is in Los Angeles area. So much for that theory of yours, eh?

Besides, logic is logic, regardless of the source. It is evident you don't put much stock in having the information you need to make a decision, or an opinion. You didn't have the information about my background, yet you make an assumption. You don't appear to put much stock in using logic, as you keep arguing with me based on your beliefs, but you haven't given me a logic train to support your ideas.

It's also good to know you don't stereotype. Negative rep coming your way!

I live in northern NJ and I voted for Bush because I respect the man, believe he is honest and felt that he was the better presidential choice both in terms of protecting our country from terrorist attack and ultimately winning the war against terrorism (as much as it is winnable in an absolute sense).

Living where I do, I'd be much more worried about further terrorist attacks in this area if Kerry had become president rather than Bush.

goldstar, how far from McGuire AFB is that? I think it is near Wrightstown. Just might be right down the street.

glyph, not quite down the street. McGuire AFB is about 85 miles from my house and it is near Wrightstown. According to mapquest, it's a 1 hr. 35 min. drive. Actually it would be an easy drive since it's mostly on Interstates or the NJ Tpke. Maybe when you move up there we could get together.

I've visited McGuire a few times and I've seen an airshow there. It's a pretty impressive place, at least to this civilian. As I'm sure you know, the base is named after Major Thomas McGuire, WW II's second greatest ace with 38 enemy planes destroyed. He achieved his victories as a P-38 Lightning pilot in the Pacific theater but unfortunately was killed before the war's end. Interestingly, he was born in Ridgewood, NJ.

Interesting to me because I only recently found out the location of his birth place and it happens to be close to where I live.
