Those damn ****

I don't see how his ethnic background has anything to do with why you got conned. People of any background can do this.

Well I just said it because I was pissed at the moment... But, all the times I did get conned, it was an immigrant who was the source... But anyway, this isn't the subject of the discussion.

well some certain ethnicity's are more common to do certain things to make a quick buck, tried and proven. just my two cents on the whole ordeal.

I've been scammed by white people--I don't hold it against all of them. And while this might not be the topic you intended, it's certainly become one that needs to be addressed.

it doesnt have to be my proof, i wouldnt get into something like that on a CAR related forum, im not white, so like i said, just my two cents.

This was sooooo not the way I thought this thread would go...

Anyway, rebooted my car's computer and the air bag light works... So i'm still wondering what the hell those sockets are for...

EDIT: Also took out the Speedo/Tach/temp lights and all 3 are toshiba v2's (#74). Problem is that the one for the temp/gas is half the size of the two others?!

I would say in Toronto (where I am orgianlly from) dealers of Arabic decent arent easily trusted bc of their poor reputation with this kind of thing happening all the time. Not saying ne one is better or worst but thru my expierences I would say Arab/Indian people are the worst to deal with for the shear fact they wanna make a quick buck.

p.s I am of Indian decent born and raised in Canada

o.p honestly things sad out of anger will result in this kinda ish.
Take a pic of the back of the gauge panel highlight the sockets taht are in question. and POST!

The right ring you marked is where the low washer fluid is indicated. The one on the left doesn't apprear to be used. There are three lights to the left of the cluster. Bottom is ABS (if car has ABS) Center is Check engine light. Top O/D Off indicator light.

Note on the Check engine light. If you are checking any car from 96 up the check engine light will come on when ignition switch is turned on. I will not be on with the engine running. If checking a car to purchase it would be best to walk away if the light isn't working as intended.

In your case it's probably not only a bulb problem. Getting everything corrected could be expensive. I would ask said dealer to fix the problem or buy the car back. If he refuses report the problem to whoever in your government handles problems with car dealers.

P55--

Is this the guy who sells used camels?

If I would of seen a camel... I would of ran like heeeeeell daaaaaaaaaaaaamn haha.

Hey, anyone know where I could get a cheap front and bumper grill? 3-400$ seems quite high for something that isn't that hard to make. If you guys have a DIY on how to make a grill... shoot it.

i don't know about canada, but i think there's a law against tampering with the CEL. i'd check with your equivalent of the Department of Transportation.

Is there a low washer fliud lite that is supposed to be in the P5? When I installed my gauge rims I think that hole was empy, should there be a bulb in there? I've never had a low washer fluid come on.

I believe the low washer fluid warning was only on canadian cars

all i see there is a window with a water fountain thing so im guessing its the washer fluid light as mentioned before. i have the american model so it doesnt light up but i can faintly see the image. the space on the left is empty, the washer fluid is on the right.

The yellow washer fluid light comes on only when the washer fluid level is very low and might go on and off if the level is low (fluid sloshes back and forth) when you corner like crazy, it did for me (lol2), (hence NO self test upon start up!).

There are several lights that are not part of the start up self test. The only thing you can do is see which are lit at start up, and figure out what the missing ones are.

I don't know if the manual is different for US Proteges.
