thinking of getting rid of the MSP

I like how everybody says that it's a chicks car, but 240sx is a real man's car.

Back in 1995, over 70% of 240SX buyers where females....

Miata's are awesome. People who think they are girly cars have never seen a ford mustang. Mustangs are owned by more girls than any other "sport car".

I can think of a lot better girly cars than a miata....anything toyota makes....anything honda makes....etc.

Hey I had a 96 240sx too. Maybe I do have a thing for girly cars.:p Oh wait it was fast too.

My only comment...if the Miata is so great (not denying that it is...I love em, but they are too small for someone 6'5"), why did it finish last in SCC's Ultimate Street Car Challenge?

because those contests are for all around scores...miata would excell in several catagories IF the car had been set up properly...

Is SCC mag your bible?? That's sad.

The guy who had the miata used too large of a turbo and had lag problems...

I_Boost, just stop listening to all the haters, In all actuality as far as performance potential goes, a Miata is superior to a Protege. I say go for one man, and you'll be happy.

No, I don't even subscribe, but I do enjoy reading it occasionally. After reading the results, it does seem that his turbo was way too big, but he didn't excel in anything. I know it's just a magazine & who knows how smart this guy actually is, but they said he had every article ever written about a Miata & designed the mod setup just for the USCC.

That doesn't mean that the guy could drive. Remember that most "tuners" never drive their cars to the full potential. I don't think the USCC is really relevant to what we are discussing here except for the fact that it has a Miata in it. This is going to be a daily driven Miata...not a trailer queen that only sees race gas and "R" compound tires.

Also, how many MSP's were in their USCC? People always say how one car kicks ass because there are a few people pushing infinity horsepower, but most people aren't going to get those numbers. It's like people saying their car is cool cause someone ran an 11 second quarter mile in a highly modded one, but they're never going to get that fast so who cares, you know? What I'm saying is, maybe the miata doesn't have as much potential as the other cars in order to get big numbers etc, but most people would never come close to needing that level of power etc.

SCC said the guys miata was set up for drag racing so it sucked on auto-x....then when it went to drag race the clutch was burning up....kinda like shooting your chances in the foot.

IBoost, have you even test driven one yet? I traded my MSP in for an MSM. Ive driven both cars, the miata has it beat in every category. That protege would never out handle it, will lose its value a hell of a lot faster than a miata, and there is nothing better than driving with the top down in 6th gear doing about 90 on the interstate. Turboed or not, the miata is a much better car than any protege

Funny, I don't remember seeing the MSP even MENTIONED in the ultimate street car challenge.

Miata +1. (mj)
