The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Marc are you bringing the RX-7 and the Miata? I am sure Lauri would not mind co-driving either....I may bring Spicy if she is ready

I am going to bring the Miata and run C Stock I need one more event for the Mazdaspeed discount on it.

I need some opinions;

I put on coilovers, new lower control arms and endlinks on my P5 this past weekend and have an appointment for an alignment this Friday. (I'm not driving the car until I get the alignment). My question is I've got new rear trailing arms coming this week, should I re-schedule the alignment for when they are installed or shouldn't they make a difference? I don't think they would make a difference since they aren't adjustable and simply a beefier stock replacement but I don't want to throw out my alignment when I install them.

Here's a link to the part.

Hey guys,

I finally updated my site with some suggestions we got from John Doonan (CCN channel), moved a few things around. Let me know what you think. Be warned, I still need to update the events for 2012 and the members section. My former car has been lonely there for a while so if anybody wants their car added let me know, I'll need a few pics and what you want me to say about it.

Also, if you guys have any suggestions on something else I can add to it please give me some. I've thought about adding some other videos or news pieces from Grand-Am or Mazda\cars in general, but haven't decided anything.

Yep, I'd wait too. I've been known to go back once my tires have worn a good amount to get it realigned.... But I have a lifetime alignment lol.

Alrighty then, I don't mind waiting another week. Thanks guys. :)

ps- thanks for letting me borrow the fender roller, Jess. And where did you find lifetime alignments on a lowered car? Conrads in Akron have been great to me.

Was mine not good enough for you?

I'm not slammed by any means but it just wouldn't fit. Jess's was just a weeee bit shorter and worked okay. Ivan is coming over tonight to finish rolling his so maybe I'm just a complete moron and was doing something wrong. But thanks again! :)

I've never had a guy tell me it was too big.....

Evan, this! I've got the same thing for my P5 and taken it to two different locations with it lowered with no issues. IIRC I paid $125 a few years ago with a coupon. Check out their site to see if they have any specials in you area. Speaking of, I need to call and get mine in for one.

Thanks Jess and Jeff for the heads up about Firestone. I'm weird about people working on my car so the Conrads in Akron have been super good to me so I'm reluctant to try a new place. Do they give you guys before and after spec sheets?

Nate, LOL!

Although I wish I tracked my car stock first

I'm glad I got a bunch of track time on the stock MS3 suspension last year. With all of the body roll, I was able to get a good feel for what every throttle, brake, and steering input did to the car's weight distribution. Also helped me learn how to be much smoother with my inputs.

I can't wait till Friday to race at Pitt Int Race Complex now that I have the coilovers (and all of the other new goodies I got)! Plus, my new front and rear brake pads and brake rotors came today!!! I was getting worried because I ordered them about 3 weeks ago and NEED them to race (stock rotors and front pads are worn). Apparently they were out of stock and they had to wait for the manufacturer.

I've always been given a sheet in the past with the specs. They've always done within factory specs which is ok with me. If you were looking to get custom specs done, I'd talk to someone there first to make sure they'll do it before paying for it.

They've given me an after one if I ask. I've never asked for a before lol.

The one by RAM is reluctant but will do non-factory specs if you sign the receipt saying you know it will affect tire wear. I usually just do 0 toe and -1 all around.. but only -1 up front on the 2 since I can't get any camber in the rear D: I've had them do custom toe on another Neon, though. They've even let me sit in the car, but they really didn't want to do that. I just explained I was going to track the car and I wanted it more accurate. I think it's a liability for them so they really didn't want to... but that whole trip ended in them offering me a job lol.
