The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

So I'm signing up for the Toledo autox and like Evan, I'm stuck at choosing what class I'm in. I have no idea!

Also, for my numbers, can I use masking tape to make them? I need to do some reading on autox in the next couple weeks so that I'm as prepared as can be and don't have to ask dumb questions.

Whatever class you choose, make sure it has the L in the end. For ladies. OH!

Just a heads up for our members going to Mid-Ohio, Cp-E will be joining us at the corral, I know that the Speed 3 guys will be happy so will the Speed 6 and Mazda 6 drivers will be too!

I have some magnetic #'s you can borrow.

Just registered for the auto-x! I'm so excited and nervous. I know I'll be extremely slow and the fact that I'm in STU makes it even more funny. It should be fun and a great learning experience. I put myself down as a novice so I believe that makes my class NSTU. Is that correct?

I also bought a set of wheels yesterday. Drag DR-38 17x8 +47 in silver. Clean, simple, and a great price. Now all I need is a helmet and I'm set to go!

That's awesome! Who's going to be there representing them?

Awesome Nate, thanks! I already chose 88 as my preferred number so I think I'll end up going with masking tape this time around. We'll see how it plays out.

I'm calling you Dale Jr. from now on, or jr. for short

New motor mounts came in, might try to put them in on sunday if I'm not too hung over and see if that makes the noise level acceptable.

NWOR doesn't mind if you use blue painters tape for your # and class letters. Or you could go to the home depot/ lowes and go to the isle that has HVAC duct work and registers, there you will find white magnetic vinyl sheeting that is used for covering registers. It comes in about a 12"x 8" size with 3 sheets in a pack which is plenty for your needs. For the people with white/ light color cars it is paintable. If your going to use this material print up you #'s and letters cut them out and use them as a pattern and use an exacto knife to cut them out or just cut on the line with the exacto knife. You should wind up with a professional looking job. If anyone has any questions let me know and I will try yo help out.

Lol Nate! I chose the number because its the year I was born but that's funny! Jr is at your service.

Marc, thanks for the heads up! I will definitely go that route. I appreciate the help.

or you could just use the lime green froggy tape

if the cars blue, the windows arent ;) theres always a way to use blue painters tape :)

Depends on the region, but o0n8's suggestion is mo-betta, painter's tape comes in a bunch of colors. Window numbers are a problem too because they're a lot harder to read when the car's in motion. Bold numbers against a solid (ie: not transparent) background are best. Then again, most regions don't run 3 cars on course at the same time like we usually do (most regions also don't have 150+ entrants at their events), so, whatever works for your region.

It's a bit of a haul for you Larry, but maybe you can bring the 3 or P5 and your baby sized helmet?
