The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Nope, fenders have not been rolled. I guess that could be an idea to try. I don't have a fender roller though. I'll have ya give it a drive the next time I'm up there and you can tell me what ya think.

You have a rubbing problem? How is that? You aren't really that low, are you?

you momma has a rubbing problem! ZING!!!

sorry...just avoiding work...

I can get a fender roller shipped to me, you'll all have to chip in for the return shipping.

Id be down for a fender rolling day as mine may need to be rolled a bit further down the wheel well than i originally had them rolled

ps- I love having a Protege. My car is so easy to work on. Well, when it's not rusted. I had an airbag light when I snagged Phens leather seats (and now the Recaros). I just pulled the bulb. :)
Soo late to this...

While not verified, I have heard reports that if the airbag light is on, the entire airbag system will not work properly. You can easily swap seats w/o airbags and keep the light off by using a resistor in the connectors. I forgot the resistance value (it's in the FSM), but I think it's 5 ohm. When I swapped in the Sparco's in the P5 I went through great lengths to avoid any issues with the airbags:

1. Disconnected battery and drained all charge in the system (depress brake pedal for a few seconds)
2. Unplugged airbag connection on seat and remove seat
3. Install resistor (I made my own plug)
4. Install new seats

I remember reading somewhere the airbags could go off if there was enough energy in the system, hence all the precaution. I may have some resistors left over if you ever want to try that route.

Morning....sooo much randomness....

Evan#2...just put a small piece of electrical tape on the gauge cluster where the TPMS light is. Has worked great all winter on the wife's car and easy enough to take off when you swap the summer's on. :)

Got my date set for the tuner, April 1st. Now I know my deadline hopefully I can get my car done by then, starting hopefully next week. I want to take my time to make sure everything is done right.

Oh crap. Thanks for the heads up, Jon! I'll look into the service manual tonight when I get home from work and fab something up this weekend. Zoom-zoom-BOOM would suck if they were the airbags going off. heh-heh

ps- Phen and I could have a "Spring Cleaning" meet at the house Saturday, April 2nd. That's the weekend before Mid-Ohio and would work out well. Maybe Marlon can have those nice fellows at SU ship the fender roller again, and we could all mount up our summer wheels, wash/wax, BBQ and all that good stuff. I can post up a thread if there is interest?

FS-DE cam question, with the Haltech to set up sequential injection I need to switch to a 626 cam gear and sensor. My question is couldn't I go with an aftermarket adjustable cam gear then instead of a stock 626 cam gear?
I read somewhere along time ago that the reason MSP's don't have after market cam gears available because they have multiple pick-ups (things for the sensor, whatever they're called) on the the gears And the aftermarket ones have one which could work with the 626 sensor. Can't find where I read that though.

Greetings from Vancouver, BC. I left Atlanta at 4am EST and got to my hotel at 4pm EST and got paid for 12 hrs of travel time. Booyah!

What a strange change in weather.. It was 65 deg when I left Atlanta, 26 deg in Chicago, and a balmy 46 deg and rain in Vancouver. The scenery is nice and if the weather is decent this weekend I plan a hike in the mountains. I forgot my camera so no pictures. My bad.

Seeeeeeeya at The Mitty~

Just do it and we'll bring out our Corsa Car care bucket as well. Let me know, so I can get the roller shipped out asap.

That's one of the days slated for the possible show that I'm playing. Final date hasn't been decided yet. It's either March 26 or April 2nd. Not that it really matters.
