I think it all started with the whole firestone tires on the ford explorers failing. We have them on just about every Cadillac here in the shop. They are kinda pricey though.
it would be more helpful if it told you which wheel was low. having to look for a tire that is at 27.5psi is annoying sometimes. (every time the light went off, one tire was at 27.5 and the others at 29-30) i know more expensive cars do though... but im not made of money.

I'm trying to talk myself into getting coil-over sleeves for the protege. any recommendations?
Coilover sleeves kinda suck. If that's the style you're talking about. Not the coilovers, but the sleeves. I had them on one of my Civics and the ride quality was terrible. Are you still on stock suspension? I would reccomend just some quality springs/struts.
Honestly, I would invest in better tires first. Aren't you on all seasons?
ps- I love having a Protege. My car is so easy to work on. Well, when it's not rusted. I had an airbag light when I snagged Phens leather seats (and now the Recaros). I just pulled the bulb.![]()
