The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

It was a great day if you ask me. Very comfortable weather in the morning and enough time to get 4-5 good sessions in before the sky opened and it started pouring.

Evan and I saw Anthony but only for one session?
Did you show up late, Anthony?

Also, it looked like you spun at the end of the back straight? What happened? Do you have any video?

I had a blast, once again. Will is a great instructor and I was getting faster and more comfortable with every session. But then it rained and I wasn't going to risk wadding my car into a wall so we headed home. Looking forward to the September event.

I'm hitting the NEOhio auto-x this Sunday if anyone wants to join Peaches and I.

Thank you, sir. It was a fun time as usual.

I will not be at the autocross this weekend. :(

I was there. I missed the first couple sessions. Had some fun wet laps and then the track dried for a couple more dry sessions at the end of the day. I did visit China Beach, it's a nice place. That's when I saw you guys, I went slow and pitted to let the brakes cool after that. No spinning out though. I was pretty aggressive with the brakes and they faded badly, will be on the list of things to do.

haha those factory brakes are garbage lol. I had HPS brakes fade too (although I was on slicks)

I was at that race.

And, I though you used your phone app/timer. Are you holding out on us...

LOL I even experienced brake fade there with upgraded front rotors (DBA 4000 T3 Rotors) and EBC Yellowstuff brake pads. I was on Nitto NT01 tires, which aren't quite slicks, but very sticky. I finally upgraded my pads to Carbotech AX6 and didn't experience any brake fade at Mid-Ohio last September. I even had Hoosier slicks.

I think the limit of the brake pads is what causes most people to experience fade in the MS3. It also doesn't help that the MS3 isn't a light car and is very nose-heavy.

yes baby Marc had bad brake fade trying to keep up with me going through some fun run roads last weekend. And his brakes only have 8,000 miles

He had brake fade during a fun run? You guys are doing it wrong.

I couldn't get the track app to work so I used the regular camera app and it ran out of storage space before I went off. There is no quality setting on the default iPhone camera app (that I know of), so all videos are high bitrate and I was low on space. I was bummed. After that I got the track app to work and was able to take more videos. iOS 8 beta doesn't work well with some apps that haven't been updated. I am going to upload the footage I have from that session before it ran out of space.
