6 speed isn't much faster just more drivable!
i test drove an auto for a friend that came 5 hrs to buy it.... found it to be DOG slow. need to get my hands on a 6 speed now.
If you ever came down to the IL meets who knows what could happen.

If you drove the tester that they had out there....I think that was an R3. Or are you saying that you were thinking about since then and have since then driven an auto???? If the auto was and 04 or 05 it is a diferent engine (4 port vs. 6 port in the manual and 06 and newer autos). The older autos were disapointing. There is a guy in Chi who put a supercharger on an 04 wiht good results. He tracks his car regularly, and last I saw over on 8club he was selling all the factory glass, so I bet that thing is quick.
I drove an 05... the OP may have driven the new one, idk.
I have been playing with the idea, but that quick test drive I took was the first time I've actually even been in one. 2 days later an indyrx8club member came up to buy it. the founder of indyrx8club is slappin a SC on his 04 auto.... thing is a BEAUTIFUL car... full MS kit, suspension, the works..
One of the Evolv chi founders has a supercharged auto too. He tracks it and say he is happy with the power. The most impresive thing about his set up for me is that it isn't a kit. He used an off the shelf roots blower and a ton of know how. Pretty cool stuff.
a roots blower!? THAT is impressive...
238HP in the 6-speed vs. 197HP in the auto. I have the 6-speed and have driven the auto. Big difference! 6 ports vs. 4 ports.

Simply put, you drive and RX-8, you don't try to drag race it.If you want straight line speed, find another car.
and it feels down, because what you "feel" is really torque, which a 1.3l obviously lacks.IDk. The 8 comes from the factory with more power that any of the previous gen RX7's except the FD. It is buy far the most powerful NA rotary mazdas has ever put into mass production. Handling is great, and the power only seems down because of the cars that usually get compared to it.
