Syncro-mesh problem on a P5

Welp, I dropped my car off at the dealer, the guy who drove with me (Who I keep forgetting to ask what his name is, dammit) was a really cool guy. We hopped in, and drove around, and he was noticing the catching at low speeds, then shifted it around on the highway, and said, "Yep, those are definitly grinding.", we got back, I got my rental, a Nissan Sentra GXE. Not too bad. I miss my car immensly, and the suspension on this one's too sloppy, as well as the steering, but at least I've got something to putt around in in the mean time. =) I hope to have my car back soon, but who knows. Still havn't heard on the progress of the car, but no biggie. Let them do it, and do it right, you know?

Sorry if I asked this already... but did you have short shifter and/or bushings installed when you went?

And they don't care??? I took mine off in worry that they will say something about it! Now when I took off my ss and bushings, you can't feel the grinding... should I put it back in?

The tech I drove with agreed that the shifter nor the bushing would have any negative effect on the syncro's

Hmmmm... then I have to decide if I should put it back, since when it's on, it's more noticeable. Well, I'm taking mine in tomorrow for a bubble on the wheel, and probably next week for the grinding and cold start rattle. I'm glad I found this site!!! I wouldn't have known ANYTHING and I would have been driving STOCK, OH NO!!!
