Street Unit Gauge Rings.....

So I bought the unfinished rings, sand paper, and metal polish. I do not want to mess them up, so I am asking for quick directions.

I am not familiar with the techiques of sanding other than just sanding wood. Do you have to do what's called wet sanding? What do you use first, 400 or 800 grit paper? When does the polish come into play? Thanks in advance.

You would use the 400 first and follow up with 800. You always want to start with coarse and work to fine. I would start with the 800. You can always do more if it doesn't get you where you need to be, but you can't go back if it's too much. Know what I mean? Sand obviously in a circular motion.

DaveB for the win. I've removed mine plenty of times, even swapped them to a new cluster. They've never come off unless I took them off :)

Everyone says this, but the only problem is they are not made anymore. Nor are they readily available ANYwhere. I'm holding out hope that Ken starts selling gauge rings again, because I have read some not so good reviews on Street Unit rings, but that's the only option right now if you want some rings. Which I do. I wish I knew how to make some.
