i know for sure that the evo recaro seat are fantastic for a track car but try riding in one for more than a few hours would have your back wanting to kick you in the balls.
i used my evo for a DD for 2.5 years. for the most part it was fine. the only time it hurt was the few trips i took from CT to DC. i think it's like 6 hours each way. that was a little rough.
what im thinking of doing is first getting a TBE, intake and a tune, (like in the first week).
you should probably do some research before deciding that to make sure those are the appropriate first things to mod. IIRC the stock intake on the evo isn't one of the first things that needs replacing unless you want it to go vroom vroom
then after that id go for coilovers (if the car's previous owner didn't already put them on).
then why bother to get an MR? you're replacing its best feature
eventually i would need a FMIC, but i know that the EVO comes with that...
why would you need an FMIC? because it looks pretty? research then decide on mods. you don't even know what car you're getting yet you already know the proper mod path?
if you want a showy car with a bunch of s*** parts thrown at it that probably don't work well together but people will think you're super cool because you say you have things like an FMIC and an intake then you might as well get a civic. you can do everything in the world to it cheap
i think the main reason i like the STi more is because of the slip diff settings...
shall i say research again or is it redundant by now? the STI's DCCD is virtually identical in function to the evo's ACD which came in the 05+ evo. i have no idea what a "slip diff setting" is
the EVO looks better, but the interior was all plastic like a ford focus... and it just didn't feel good to drive, but like i said i need to drive a different one before i write off the possibility of an EVO 9
the SSL package makes the evo much nicer. doesn't change the dash but leather wrapped seats are very nice. though the alcantara on the 9 are nice as well
just in case if i didnt make it clear before im looking for a 05-07 STi or a 05-07 EVO or EVO MR
first, the 05 evo was an 8. second, there is no 07 evo.
seriously research your cars and your mods. don't buy something just because everyone says it's cool and you want to impress others. buy the best thing out there for you. figure out what you want to do with it mod wise, learn about the car and then plan appropriately. don't be another ricer with more money than brains or taste.
