this has always been my position... and its gotten me flamed on this forum several times... yes, a SRT-4 is kinda fast (of course that is relative) but they're never as fast as their owners always try to make them out to be.

Not going to comment on the video as I can not view it here at work. Though on the topic of the owners and car in general. The SRT no matter how you look at it is faster than the MSP in just about all areas. This is not to say the MSP is a bad car it is merely the fact the SRT is newer and more properly tuned. The SRT also uses a test proved block that has been refined for many years. Now indeed the biggest point on the whole b**** feast that goes on has to do with the owners and the not the cars. Again it seems that how a owner behaves dictates how the car is seen. It is here that there are a lot of similarities.

The drivers are typically like some MSP owners in their teens or early 20's just getting into the sports car market. They think as most young people do that they are hot chit and are out to try and prove something. They bicker amongst themselves and others. Heck on the SRT boards they had a stupid argument over what is better a aftermarket BOV or the MOPAR one. Course here on the MSP boards you guys have something like 8 subsections cause you use to argue over what belong where. Does any other Protege model here have as many subsections??? Things recently have started to cool down though there are still the hot useless arguments that continue.

You can bash the car all you want it is still faster and has beyond more potentional than the MSP. Stock vs stock the SRT is one of the most affordable factory tunable cars available. One thing is true there is a lot in common with the ownership representation that people perceive from both cars and currently in some cases that representation is extremely lacking.

Hopefully people will learn to distinguish between this and not base any car solely on the owners.

With just a stage one upgrade, 3" exhuast and drag slick, I saw SRTgurl do it at NewEngland Dragway. Aftera a turbo upgrade, these guys are in the 11's!

hrm. Didn't catch that. I thought the 323 was a hatch? Looked like an early 90's galant?

They weren't calling it slow. More of, making fun of the attitudes of some of the SRT owners and their rationale of thinking their car is the best. Which, is also the view of some of the MSP owners. It was even more obnoxious when Steve Anderson hit 500 horsepower, and then blew his motor on the track.. it's the car that has the oil all over the back bumper.

edit: Of course, Mustang owners obviously think they have the badest car, even the V6 guys.. the same can be said about almost all "sports car" owners.
