SRI = Hot Air?

Guys is it true that the SRI by design, is only drawing in hot engine bay air and not cold dense air? This was true on my previous car. Thoughts?

Technically, yes, but a lot of people will argue that when your car is moving, there's enough ambient air that rush in the engine bay to replace the hotter air. My take on it is, cooler IAT = cooler BAT. And plus the air that the SRI gets is the air that already got heat treatment through the condenser and radiator, so...

Dont forget about the intercooler. It is cooling down the intake charge anyway.
