Squeak

MazdaSpeed3 GT Silver soon to have MS CAI
I noticed a squeak every time I shift or tap the accelerator quickly, it also happens if I hit the right bump in the road. It is driving me nuts now knowing it is here. I noticed shortly after I got the car and I hoped it would be fixed with the recall engine mount but that was not the squeak. It is a quick high pitched squeak, do you think Mazda will be able to find it or will I be doomed to live with the noise.

nah take it back if it is something that is always there like that what you are describing it should be fixed its the intermittent problems that are a b**** to get fixed...

good luck

Yeah the squeak is always there, I hope they can find it with out any problems.

Also I know all to well about intermittent problems that's exactly what my old vw was intermittent problems. I used to have to video tape problems to prove there was a problem. You would figure after the first 3 or 4 times I showed them video of different problems, that the dealership would start to believe you that these problems exist and you are not the crazy. Nope still had to convince them every time for each different problem.

Its your seat.. you need to lose some weight.. your stressing the springs on the seat every time you accelerate causing them to squeal in agony.....(evil)

Bad joke aside... is it coming from the inside or outside of the car? Does it do it while idling as well or only while moving? Sounds like a squeaky front suspension if its coming from outside only while moving...

I think it is the seat, right side, by the seat belt latch. Mine has it.

I'll have to check the seat then, it actually sounds like it's coming from the center console at about stomach level. Like Havoc says every time I shift or tap the throttle i hear a little chirp from inside thee car. At first I thought it was my keys tapping each other but it's not. I also did not notice it before I took the center console apart to install my XM and radar detector. So maybe I caused it. I'll have to tear the car apart this weekend.

Its the seat belt buckle rubbing between the console and seat. Lower it a bit after you fasten your seat belt and it'll be go away.

Acually there are 2 squeaks. The one I posted about originally in this thread is not the same squeak as my seatbelt squeak.

fragchild, unfortunately I have not had the time to bring the car in as work is keeping me swamped until at least the end of October. I have just turned up the radio. For me though it sounds like it is coming from the mid to rear of the car, but I could be wrong.

The seatbelt squeak sounds different and I can stop that squeak by holding the seatbelt receptacle and while holding it down I can produce the other squeak. They are both driving me nuts (smash)(bang)

If you get it resolved at the dealer please post back what this other squeak is. If I happen to get it resolved soon I will let you know.

I have this same squeak.
It sounds to be coming from under the dash, in the center.
Sounds like a cricket chirping. Has nothing to do with the seat belts.

I have been having this same issue since I bought the car about 2 weeks ago and I still have no clue what it is but I have yet to bring it in =/

I have a squeek like that and it is the seat. Try bouncing up and down or holding yourself up off the seat as you drive to see if it goes away. I find if you shift your weight over it stops lol. I'm not at all fat but there is definetly an ass print in my seat so you just gotta give the springs some down time lol.

But the universal fix for all noises you don't like............. dun dun dun....... turn up the tunes! Blast that sub like theres no tomorrow and you'll forget all about the sound becasue you can't hear it lol.
