Creaking/Groaning Noise during low speed braking

turning the rotors is never a permanent fix... they become thinner and become easier to warp again... what does prevent rotor warpage to begin with is to make sure the lug nuts are evenly tightened... a torque wrench achieves this... go to a mickey mouse shop, and they'll blast the lug nuts on, "like a race car"
New rotors always go on with new pads for me. Modern rotors are made lighter than they were years ago. True, they have a minimum thickness spec, and usually the guy cutting the rotor will most likely always unnecessarily cut to minimum thickness whether they need to or not.

I guess my local dealer could be a Mickey Mouse shop but they are the only ones who took the front wheels on and off as I had oil changes and rotations done there while it was under warranty. Just finished my last oil change there.

given the benefit of the doubt, they might've gone out of their way to take off the wheels to inspect the brakes as part of their "full circle inspection"... my dealer doesn't really do that and neither does the place I used to work at lol
