Spoke To Mazda Rep In Person!

dudes, my dealer is awesome. its alhambra mazda in california.

well lemme tell you about my first service there. i needed an oil change (too hot to diy). so i buy my oil and filter and go over there. the guy said that it would cost $12 for labor and disposal. i was like "alright." so i chill on the lot and check out the row of 03.5 blazin yellow speeds that just got off loaded. along with a dealer modded protege with mp5 front end conversion(headlights, bumper and fogs). looked decent but had altezzas. so i'm chillin and i see my salesman that sold me the speed. to my surprise, he still remembered me! then we went back to the 03.5s and talked car. a little later, he got a page so he had to go. i go back to the lounge and chill. a little later my speed pulls up and gets parked by a service guy. i go out to look at my car. the service guy gets out and starts talkin to me all excited. he started rambling about all the stuff i could do, like aluminum pipes, 3" exhaust, carbon hood, blah blah. i'm all surprised at this. so we talk car a little then he gets called back to work. so he tells me to wait in the lounge while the service manager completes the paperwork and enters records. about 5 min later oscar, the service manager, comes in. he says its ready to go. he also compliments me on my turbo timer saying that it was a good thing to have to keep the turbo running well. so he hands the cashier my bill and says that he has a "surprise" for me. so i grab my $20 and wait for the cashier to ring me up. i get the bill to sign and it says $0.00! i thought, "wow this is tyte". so i go outside and oscar asks me how i liked it. i responded that it was cool and got into my car and left. they are one of the best dealers around. not many can say this, but going to the dealer was a high point in my day.

my dealer is like that. hell my sales man said that if they couldnt get the msp in (thankfully they did) he was gonna sell me a protege 5 with the jspec cams, injen intake, 2.5inch catback and any other lil odds and ends i could come up with... all under warrente. i guess thats why spool is hooked up with my dealer

afaceinthecrowd---- that's cool and all, but i can't believe they said they were going to charge you anyway. most dealerships give your first oil change (sometimes a year) free of charge.. i know mine is. i'm getting ready to go get my first probably next week. and i don't have to pay a dime or buy oil or filter. it's cool that they approved of your turbo timer. my dealership said they wouldn't even install one. they said if it was meant to be on my car, or beneficial to be on my car then mazda would offer it.. i talked to the mazdaspeed tech, and he said he's installed a lot of them and thinks it's a great investment. just goes to show that the ppl behind the desk don't give a s*** about customers.. even my salesman said a turbo timer would be good to have.. dealerships are shady.. it's all about personality and what mood they're in that day.. where is this dealership at in illinois that everyone is talking about? might need to pay them a visit.

I remember seeing in my paperwork that Mazda will warranty all wear items (clutch, brakes, ect) for the first 12k miles.

12000 miles or 12 months, just got done reading the warranty book. Also they'll do allignment and fit and finish things like hood adjutments, A/C refill and all that stuff. At 11999 i am going in for the works.

Just to add fuel to the fire.... yeah it depends on the dealership, at a local VW and BMW dealership that I worked at, I replaced MANY clutches, tires and brake pads under warranty. Everything from GTi's to M3's, some VERY obviously raced, tires never rotated after about 15K miles (supposed to be 5K for VW), etc...

I even replaced a turbo on a lady's Passat, with 40K miles on it. VW split the cost with the moron even though she had only changed her oil THREE times during the 40K!!! There was less than a quart and a half in the oil pan when I drained it, and the turbo and heatsheilding around it were all yellow and blue from being totally overheated. It all depends on how much your dealership values customer service.

well BMW pays FOR EVERYTHING. They pay for oil changes, brake jobs and everything. the only thing they don't pay for is tires. everything else they ay for the service
