Snow Tires

Hi All,

I just took a trip up to Vermont this weekend and encountered a bit of snow. The SP9000's do not seem to be at their best in the slippery stuff. Does anyone have snow (or even all-season) tires that they have put on for the winter. Mainly curious about sizes being used.

Hi John,
I'm running michelin arctic alpins 185/65/14s
on my mp3 on not so stylin 14x6 black seel wheels.
I must say that I'm impressed by their performance! :D

i got perilli's 15's 205/55 where in vermont were you i was in killington and sugarbush this past week!! i havent had my car in the snow yet but they dont handle even close to as good as the dunlops. mounted on steel black 15's

I'm having Toyo Observe 195/55 15s on MSW six-spoke wheels mounted as I write this (uh, I said "mounted" he,he,he). The Toyos are bad-ass in the snow--they're make of crushed walnut shells! I plan to stay off the roads as much as I can, though, because it's OTHER people who don't know how to drive in the stuff...especially here in Maryland where it snows just enough to not take a chance with the Dunlops but not enough for anyone to get used to driving in the stuff.

I got p195/60/15 Dunlop Graspic SP1 on steel wheels with...ummmm I'm sorry to say hubcaps. My wife is driving this car for the winter. We got our first snow of the season yesterday, about 7", and she said she had no problems to or from work or the alley behind our house (pretty steep hill and rarely plowed or salted).

I ended up ordering wheels (cheap steel) and tires from Tire Rack. I got 195/60-15 Michelin Arctic Alpin. They are supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but of course we are currently getting our first snow today. :(

175/70r14 Winter studs Here on black steelies....and yes, hub caps. I bought them last year for a civic, and I'm hoping to get just another winter out of them We NEED studs, and small tires here. Just today we got 15 cm from 9am-12am. Thought about getting blizzaks, but their the s**** for our type of snow. They seem to be only good for ice.

I also went with the Arctic Alpin 15's from tire rack. I haven't really had to use them yet, but have put quite a few miles on them and they seem to be doing ok.
:)

I have 15" Toyos on steel rims installed right before Christmas. Still trying to get used to them after driving the Dunlops. There hasn't been much snow in Toronto, but the grip is pretty good with whatever little snow we had.

I have Bridgestone Blizzaks 195/60R15 on steel wheels.

I thought by now I'd know how they hold up in the snow, but it's been an amazingly warm winter in Chicago so far.
