Smoker

Hey guys im new to this group my name is Dimitri my friends call me D. I just got a 87 Turbo II. I got some smoke related problems maybe you guys can help. My car smokes like mad Smokescreen (cool for when you need to get away from the cops) It smokes only after releasing full throttle after changing from 3rd to 4th gear barely smokes when I keep I floored. It also smokes in neutral when I keep the rpm at approx 4000 rpm. I thought it was my turbo water line so I changed my turbo. No luck The smoke looks llike prestone but doesn't smell like it. HELP? Next I'm thinking either oil metering pump or Rotor housing has a leak.

my rx has never smoked, but as i recall i believe that is caused from worn apex seals

could be worn seals, most likely, but then why not do a compression check. I'd ask how it is running, but he just bought it and might not recognize a loss of power. (dunno)

mine is glen/glenda from seed of chucky, he/she is kinda freaky in that movie

when i bought my first rx i did alot of research and i remember seeing that smoking is the sign of worn apex seals but im no mechanic, if i was i would fix mine which has been sitting on a lot for 2 years waiting to be fixed cause the guy doesnt take credit cards and i dont have $1500 cash laying around

what color is the smoke it is probably a oil seal or a coolant seal

I was wondering the same thing. Not an authority either, but I think white smoke (steam)=coolant seals, blue smoke=turbos (good news) or side seals.
