Siruis Radio deal

Oh yea, it took about an hour of actual work to get it done. Really took a few hours because I was going inside every 5 minutes for breaks and to check out a few tips on this site.

i got mine today! took about an hour to put it in. i put the box on the passenger side of the console next to the glove box. zip tied it to some frame supports or some metal a-frameish thing in there. doesn't move around enough to make any noise so i'm happy. got it working and all. its great. i mounted the antenna on the rear deck and i've got the wire coming out the back of the plastic cover where the brake light would be. the actually antenna is velcro'd right in the middle.

Same here Vic...I haven't gotten an email or anything regarding a tracking number either. I guess I'll call them tomorrow and see what's up:rolleyes:

i put mine in today, pretty simple, i took my time and it took like an hour and a half. only messed up a little when i put the rubber cover thing on backwards, then realized it was on backwards just after i stuck it and peeled it up to switch it around. i got it back the right way but it's a little bumpy now, oh well, i'll live.

does anyone know how to remove the sirius logo on the antenna? it's just paint, so i was thinking of just using like a pin to scratch it off, but i was worried about it leaving a scratched version of the symbol so has anyone else taken it off?

Vic, these are getting shipped from the east coast(NH). Mine showed up today, so give them till tomorrow. I'd call after that.

hehe, yeah, i kinda figured that.........but my hands are burning to install this!!
i got a long drive to vegas coming up next week, so i want this in before that :)

what do you mean? the cable? i took the glove box out, it just slides out, then i ran the cable from the front out through the glove box area

how the hell did u guys get to the headunit jack through the glovebox
my hand doesnt' fit

My hand didn't fit either. Even with the glove box sitting on my back seat, I had to pop my headunit out a few inches and plug the wire in by sticking my hand underneath it.

Once I fed the wire through by going from the side, I grabbed it from under the radio and snapped it in.

The wire faces upwards when you plug it in.

oh yea, i assumed he'd pop out the headunit, it takes 2 seconds and makes it way easier. i plugged it into the headunit, then ran the other end through to the glove box, then put the headunit back in

got mine today
installed it 20 min ago.........WHAT A PITA!!!!!!

for some reason i thought if i went from passanger side, then the plug would be towards the opposite side (driver side). cut the s*** out of my right hand.
30 min of that.
then realized that it's right there by the right corner, and WHAMO!

as soon as i got it i went online and activated the box.
but, for some reason when everythig was plugged in nothing worked except the preview channel.....184 i think.

had to call and they re-sent the activation signal and after 1 minute everything started working.

so far i have no idea what's going on.......all these damn channels.

what do u guys recommend for good Dance, Trance, Hip-hop, Rock, Classical?
.....maybe some Pop too (for the g/f ;))

i had to have mine resent too, oh well

i'm still figuring out all of the channels, i printed out the guide thing but i keep forgetting to take it in my car so it's just sitting next to me here. i mostly listen to either 40, 42, 45 or 50, all rap/hip hop. 43 is old school but it's usually crappy old school

i took the glove box out to get the left side of the radio. stuffed it up in there, in the available space. the glove box is easy to take out. squeeze the top and it will fall and then you pop the hinge out on the left and then slide the whole thing to the left and it just comes out. it's really easy. if you look to the left of it you will see a pocket. that where i put mine. its the perfect size and it's right under where the cable connects to the radio

i put mine right where the alarm module is.
there is plenty of space, and plenty of padding from the firewall.
nice and snug with the help of 4 zip ties.

nope i only got 6 but with 4 channels for sirius programs it is still 24 stations. i am lovin it i think it is the neatest thing since sliced bread

my favorite station is 22 first wave all the way. but i have everything from the 60's channel to world music programed in mine and all the rock stations. there is a whole section of channels that is like techno trance and s*** like those. hell soooo many channels i love em all.....lol
