Rishie's FITMENT RECIPE

18" x 7.5" Konig Holes

I've got these exact rims. The offset is +45mm. They will fit with 215/35/18 rubber on stock height, but if your lowered you may need to roll the rear fenders slightly, which is what I'm planning to do this spring.

BFGoodrich KDW2's are freakishly wide for their size... but I've only compared 215,35-18's to 2 other brands and found them to be quite a bit wider than "rated"

Awesome -- thanks for the info on the wheels, Crazy.

But I WAS lookin' at the BFGoodrich KDW2's for tires .. but after readin' what RyanJayG said, should I start lookin' at some other types?

that depends on the wheel you put them on. if you get a +48 offset 7.5" wheel, etc. they will still be ok.

if you play it safe, wheel wise, more tire options become available.

I really like the look and performance of the KDW2's but I also really like my Toyo Proxe 4's and will continue to pimp them to anyone looking for a good all around tire. these things are spectacular in the rain I must add. and they are not freakishly wide for their rating either.

.. I'll have to look into those kinda tires, then, since the offset on the Holes is only +45. Cause while I COULD look at a different set of wheels, but I could NEVER hope to get them for the price I'm bein' offered for the Konig Holes. Besides, I really like the rims -- I think they'll go great with the Titanium/Carbon Fiber scheme I've got worked out, ha.

Anyone else have any suggestions on good tires, other than the KDW2's and Proxe's? What about the Potenza RE750? Crazy, what kinda tires do you have on your Holes?

dumb question -- will a 17x7 +52 fit a P5 with coil overs ?? i know it should fit withstock struts -- but coilovers ??

Ok, I figure instead of starting a new thread, I'd just ask the same question in a couple of threads...I'm trying to get new rims, but after searching through the forums, all I do is get confused. I just bought Khumo ASX tires a few months ago for my stock rims...195/50/16. I don't really understand the concept of offset...can I get a set of rims that are 16X7 w/ offset of 40"?? I just don't want to order a set of wheels and then have to return them because they don't fit...what's the recommened size for my tires??

dur

ok. i know i'm going to get flamed for asking this s*** again, but i've been up too many hours now and reading the #'s would just as well be chinese (hmmm, bad example as i can read a bit of chinese). anyway, i'm going to be putting the espelir's on my p5 soon and want to get rims, too. will the following fit without rolling fenders, etc.? also, what size tires to wrap them?

16x7, 5x114.3, +45 *or* +42

***edit- i think i see the answer but will leave this anyway. i'm calling myself a dumbfuck before anyone else gets the opportunity to do it;)

making room

Rishie,
Unfortuantely, I read your fitment recipe too late. I have an 02 MP5 lowered on Progressive springs and I just got some 17" Enkei RSVs on 205/40/17s. The clearance is okay and it fits into your "barely making it" category with the +42 offset and I get a little bit of rub only on big bumps or a bump during turns, nothing major but still annoying. I used to have Tenzo AV7s with +42 and they weren't quite as sensitive. I've had to roll my fenders as a result of the AV7s. Now that the damage is done (meaning my money spent) what can you suggest I can do to buy a little more room in the wheel well so I don't have to be as cautious/paranoid and possibly fit 2 passengers in back instead of 1 or none? Would any tricks with shocks with adj. perch or other springs work? Any help would do. Thanks.

if u rolled your fenders, there is really nothing you can do unless u get custom fender flares or something. my tein stech springs had no problems with my rims b4 (+42). i have swapped rims with a +48 offset since i changed my suspension to clear the fender.

good luck to you.

ok. stupid question but everybody is talking about 17". I have a set of 16x7+40, and tire 205/45/16. will it fit or do I have to roll the fender (what does that mean?) the car is 2002 p5 (yeah I just finish reading all 23 pages of this thread, but a little too late)

Im looking at gettin 17" rims...for my 2000 protege LX...
Its not lowered right now but I will prolly get coilovers and drop it about 2 inches soon...
Would this work

17x7.5"
+45 offset
205/40-17

Should i get +48? or some different tires? What about rubbing and such issues. ANy help is greatly appreciated. THis is going to take a significant investment and I do not want to lose money

17x7 with 42mm offset & 215/45/17 or 205/45/17???

From my personal experience I've had Tenzo AV7s with +42 with 205/45/17 and I had major rubbing problems even with rolling the fenders, but my car was also lowered. I would say non lowered you'd be fine. I ended up getting 205/40/17 instead and I was okay. That is also closer to the original wheel size so you won't have speedo differences. I'd say 40/17s would clear an unlowered MP5 easy and 45/17s would probably fill the gap a little more. Not sure about 215 vs. 205. I've always had 205s because my rims were 7" wide. Now I have Enkei RSVs with +42 and 205/40/17 and I still get a little rubbing on huge bumps or a bump in a turn but it's nothing major. It sounds worse than it is and there is nothing actually digging into the tire. I would suggest the 40/17s if you plan on lowering your car later. According to Rishie's recipe the +42 wheel will fit but it's in the "barely" category. That's why my car has an occasional rub but for the most part it's fine. To be safe get something greater than +42 like he said. But I can tell you it works. Now, I'm talking lowered, if you're not going to lower your car then I think you'll be fine either way. Good luck.
