Replacement Struts

Just curious to see what people have replaced their stock tokico blues with. Mine are done and need to be replaced. I was thinking going with the illuminas, or a full coil overs. Any issues with using the stock racing beat springs with the different struts?

Not sure if this link will work.. but just search the board, there is many discusion on this. I personaly would go back with Tokico blue's, but many insist Illumina's are the way to go. I couldnt tell you, I still have the originals.

i upgraded to illuminas and i use the skunk 2 coilovers. night and day difference in handling, it got wayyyyyy better, on the other hand you feel every bump, pebbel, dip etc. in existance. i drove mine with the stock racing hearts and its not that bad, but with my works 18's it gets pretty annoying if your driving for a while. im my opinion it worth the upgrade if your looking for performance but if its a daily driver id stick with the stock blues.

I need new rear struts for the wife's car. Put new tires on and the tire shop noticed the rear struts were leaking.

Any recommendations on vendors?

I'm assuming installation is straight forward.

i would go ahead and get all 4 new ones, stock for mp3s are tockico blues and can be found at many vendors, but protegegarage has always been my choice...never had a problem with them

^Actually the stock ones are NOT tokico HPs...they are a slightly revalved reversion and are not identical. However, putting HPs on will not be a big deal and you shouldn't really notice a difference at all...

If your not going for all out performance and are just looking for a cheap but good replacement the hp's are a good choice. It will somewhat bring the car to factory spec as the true tokico hp's use a slightly stiffer damper than stock tokico's.

my bad...i always thought the fronts were tokico blues and the rears were KYBs from the factory(huh)
