Fwd rear wheel hub replacement

I am replacing the rear wheel hub on our FWD CX-7. I've got the old one out but I can't get it out of the dust shield/backing plate. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it out? Thanks

I was able to get the rear wheel hub out this morning after pounding it with a sledge hammer.
