Maybe a dumb question but..
I went to Wal-Mart and found a FRAM (# CA5595) replacement filter for the Mazda3 2004 2.0L...so I got it. When I got home I tried to replace it and guess what. It was way smaller than my stock filter. Here's my question...

Does the Mazda3 2.0L Air Filter different than that of a Mazda3 2.3L ???

please don't hurt me..LOL

THANKS...

Was the fram filter smaller in length/width? Or just thinner?
would it physically not fit in the airbox?

Any chance you have a picture of this?

the fram filter was slightly smaller in length and width not thinner...

strange but true....it was in Wal Mart and the 2.0L filter # is CA5595

walmart has updated list?! all the ones here don't even have a 3 or 6 listed...

I had the same thing happen when I tried to order a K&N filter from my local auto parts store. I had the part number from the K&N website; however, they couldn't find it on the computer. When they looked up air filters for my car, they did a cross-reference to one of the search results. They said that I needed a different filter than the one I had listed. I tried to tell them that it wasn't correct but they wouldn't budge.

I just measured my air filter (although I couldn't get the cover off) and it is larger than the one they ordered for me (the 22-2134, which is for the Protege and 323 according to K&N). I get to go to the store and argue with them now.
