Reliability of Mazdas

Hi guys, one of the big assumptions I am taking as well is that the MS6 is going to be a reliable car. I know that the LGT is very reliable so the MS6 has stiff competition. Besides the rotarys, how is Mazda on reliability? Both engine/transmission/electronically? I want to make sure I dont have a very fast POS. Please be honest! =p I especially want to know on turboed cars. Thanks.

you may wanna ask those that have the mazda 6. The MS6 is far from anything resembling the MSP. But the MSP is reliable,........... when left stock.
Others... not so much.

Consumer Reports listed the '03 Protege as "exceptional" in every category but one, and that was rated "very good".

MSP reliable... when not driven. but it's a really fun car when pushed to the edge. :)

in 2 months, i've replaced windshield, rear swaybar bushings, got an alignment, and will need to get some front bushings lubed or replaced soon.

All Mazdas are very reliable.

Most of the problems I get with Mazdas are with the Ford parts. Seriously.

I knew a tech that worked at mazda for 5 years and said the same thing they are very reliable as long as they are mostly japanesee. He said there was rarely any problems with mazdas unless they were made with ford parts then they were more troublesome.Thats why I am glad I got the protege, I like the 3's but don't know about there reliability because they are made more by ford.

Mostly the only thing that breaks on the MSP are the aftermarket ones.
