when using rout 66 does anyone know how to cancel directions without quitting the whole program?

Nope, that's why most people switch to IGO or TomTom.

Unfortunately that's about all the information I can give you. It's a pain in the rear to figure out how to get it all working and I've forgot.

hello, i just got my head unit but the screen above the the stereo isn't working. there's no where to plug it in. How do i get this to work? the right had side with the ac controls is working but nothing else is. thx.

did you plug the CAN+ and CAN- and battery wires from the BT box into the wiring harness? if you did, which i think you did because the lcd is lightning up, you need to reverse the plugs (CAN- into CAN+). i had to flip mine too, and it fixed the problem.

thank you. that was the problem. one other question, there's a 3.5mm jack on the back of the head unit. what is that for? i connected a wire to it. can i use it?

That could be the iPod/Aux input.

Hey guys, so I got the same unit and installed it this weekend. (I have a 2007 speed3) the questions I have.are: Has anyone been able to get the AM radio to work? On my unit it gets no AM receptionand the tuner skips every 9 channelsnot sure what thats all about??(shrug) Also the Bluetooth is workingand the LCD is showing the clock and temp.but there is no display for the mode its in (ieDVD.CD.Radio) its just blank in the middle. Also when I go to the option to set the Clock it dose nothing.hit setor the down arrow and nothing happens. Is that supposed to bring you to a new screen? Could this be the CAN+ CAN- issue? Or do you think this has something to do with me having a 2007?

The fact that IGO will work on this unit is pretty much a sure thing that I will be purchasing one soon now! I love the IGO software and interface. I have it running on my current GPS but if I can get a full touch screen interface that looks more factory I'm all for it!

I use IGO on it and it's awesome.

There is a tiny slot next to the 3.5mm jack, it is for the ipod connector.

AM does work for me i know when i first installed the unit the radio antenna came unplugged when i was trying to shove everything back in place. maybe yours came loose?
i would take it back out, and make sure everything is tight and that AM is working, then put the unit back in the dash with AM going so that you know nothing comes loose. then if AM is indeed broken the unit is already out of the dash to send back to caradvanced.

the only problem i had was that the maps have to be in the root of the sd card.

I finally got around to installing my unit, but am having a few problems:

1) When using Finean, other than telling me the maps are unregistered, it also says it cannot locate the GPS port. I've tried placing the GPS antenna on the dash facing the window as well as under the vents behind the headunit. When I went to Finean's config page and clicked on 'auto' under GPS ports, it just cycles through with no result.

2) Route 66 tells me its out of memory.

3) When playing mp3s off a CD/DVD, is there anyway to browse the folders? I only see the option to change tracks, even shuffled is greyed out.

4) I know some people have placed the microphone behind the steering wheel, but where did you have the cable come out of?

5) Does the bottom edge of the unit sit flush with the temperature controls for you guys? Mine doesn't seem to want to.
