For those wanting to see what it looks like before purchasing.

Box contents from RPM:

BOX1

BOX2

BOX3

FLOOR

Installed in a Cosmic Blue (sorry for the bad lighting; snapped quick this morning cuz I wanted to post 'em for all yaz!)

INSTD1

INSTD2

It took me MUCH MUCH longer than I expected. I'm pretty handy with tools and such, but the sun set on me and I had to finish the install using my LED safety glasses, this was my first CAI install, and didn't really read the directions first. Vacuum hose had to be trimmed down to half its original size.

Comments on how it drives later, gotta run!

LOL, I've been driving with no music for the past 2 days just so I can hear the turbo whine and BPV. The engine is much smoother, but I think the puter is still learning. Definitely more power in the higher revs.

This is a great gas mileage tool. If you want to save gas, learn how to drive so that you don't hear the turbo whine at all, lol. Other than that, enjoy the "music"!!!

GAWD I need to hold out before I buy another mod!

looks nice....would cp-e intake cause warranty issues?

Only if it is the cause of something breaking. IE..you go through a puddle and suck up a bunch of water...they would not replace your engine under warranty. I doubt that would be an issue though. CP-E makes good stuff.

Yea - as long as it is dealer installed. I doubt that either would unless you drove through a really nasty puddle.

That's interesting. While I understand your line of thinking, I wonder if that could fall under "abuse". (for the sake of likelyhood, let's just pretend it happened) but if I drove through a large puddle at speed and sucked water into my stock airbox, do you think Mazda would cover it under warranty?

I would say yes to that as well. I seriously doubt that it would happen though. I guess my point is that with a Mazda accessory and a Mazda trained employee installing it they wouldn't give you any hassle at all. You could put an intake on and then if something like that happened switch back to stock real quick and then get it towed in. How would they no any difference?
