I have a cold air intake, and am looking to get a turbo inlet pipe, is it recomended to get a tune at this point? Also have read some about upgrading the fuel pump? Any recomended parts or servicing at this point would help.(help)

I think everyone would agree a tune at any point would help. Personally I did the intake and then waited for a bit. My next mod was TIP with the hypertech installed along with it. I also had a Dash Hawk to monitor fuel pressure. Each of these cars will be different, some cars cant handle the mods too well and need the upgraded fuel pump early, some are later on the mod list. I would suggest getting it tuned so that the ltfts and stfts run right, it also makes the car a lot more fun.

Turbo inlet pipe is a waste of money for the stock turbo. The stock pipe will flow more air than the little K04 turbo can push. You might get a very tiny decrease in spool time, that's it.

Put your money where you will see gains - like the HT tune or Cobb's AP, or the upstream restrictions on the exhaust side - downpipe and mid-pipe replacement.

There are many threads here on order and effectiveness of mods. Read them. TIP is very poor mod for the buck on this platform.

And yes, you select the HT map that corresponds with your intake choice. That gives you the proper MAF calibration.

MSMS3 is correct about the TIP but it was a xmas gift, it also makes the car sound better with minimal change in spool time. As far as the Hypertech goes, you just choose the normal settings that are within the Hypertech, intake and what not, very simple. I toyed around with different options of intakes and each one changes the MAF calibrations so I would definitely make sure you choose the one you have.

I can't vouch for fuel economy but I'm absolutely happy with the other things the HT does to improve the car. Eliminating the throttle restrictions in the lower gears and being able to raise your idle speed when you have a RMM and need to reduce vibes are huge. Also my car with factory tune would always hiccup, hesitate, and pop out the exhaust when romping on it between gear shifts. Not sure why but it drove me nuts and the HT has completely eliminated that. The power delivery is smoother and the throttle response is greatly improved too. Can't say enough good things about it really. It's transformed the car for me and is running the way it should have come from the factory.

I had noticeable result when I installed my TIP. I only did it because I broke the nipple in the stock unit when cleaning my EGR valve. Probably not enough to justify the cost, but I felt something. It felt a little smoother under full throttle.

Just like bez and Wurf said, the HT tuner is a nice upgrade that makes definite and relatively safe improvements that run within the stock parameters of the engine management system.
