Rattling in dash

I don't have the dreaded clunk, but I have a rattle coming from my dash on the passenger side, most annoying noise ever. It almost sounds like its on the firewall but I can't find anything loose. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

That's what the Warranty is for :D

Let them deal with it. I heard awhile back that when they installed the headunit, they sometimes didn't tighten it down all the way......

I have a rattle also, it's very elusive. Never happens at the dealership (of course). And the next foo who to tells me "that's what the big stereo is for" is gonna get it! ;)

thats what the big stereo is for ;)

no, maybe its the alarm module. mine was zip tied supported !! ugh

WHY YOU LITTLE!!!! :)

Thats an interesting possibility. I will have to have a look at that because it does seem to come from around my knees.

Speaking of which, when i turn on my defogger, it makes a constant click/tick

hehe...actually mine is caused by the larger than stock stereo. It rattles one of the directional vents...but only part of it...not the whole vent. kinda weird...

I have a squeaking sound comming from the front passenger side, when you go over eneven surfaces or bumps. Not really a rattle =T

I have a nagging sound in the passenger seat but it only happens when my wife is sitting there, any ideas?;)

Get ejector seats like in 2Fast 2Furious.

Got any half-empty NOS bottles??

If you are talking about the front defogger, check the insulation under the dash, behind the glove box. It may have come loose and then it will touch the fan blades. Cycle the exhaust / recirc button while you are under there.
If its the rear window, check the relay.

PS: 1) How come I see a red "X" in a box instead of a picture!?
2) How do I use the "quote" function for replies?

i'm got an annoying creek coming from the rear somwhere, when weight is transfered to or from the rear end. Has kind of a plasticy sound. It's drivin me nuts. And I can't get back there when I'm driving to figure it out. Anyone else have this?

You guys are going to drive yourselves nuts chasing down all of the squeaks and rattles. Having owned several other cars with stiff suspensions, I gave up a long time ago. That's what the big sereo is for!

Yep, I have one there too. I have now determined it is caused by the steering column. I found out because every time I leaned forward to listen for the sound it went away. That frustrated me, then I realized that it was because I was pulling down on the steering wheel that caused it to go away. The sound isn't that bad, only happens sometimes at freeway speeds. I will look into it if I ever remove the dash panels.
