Rally X Monster P5t

NEPOC IS IN DA HOUSE!!!

I didn't know the rotaries had less torque...
the Tribute swap sounds interesting but how about MZR or the Zetec's?
so much aftermarket zetec crap

I joined SCCA this week. Thinking about LimeRock, is MNF Manchester?

Well Brian, the argument could be made that the money you've sunk into you car is for naught, because it's a p5.

Besides, we're just barstool fabricating here :D

toche

or get a mazda mx6 v-6 and transplant it into our cars...that would be interesting...then twin turbo it and you have power...

Well thank you to slowpro98, pretzellogic and pro5maniac.
I am just stirring up discussion, it is something I thought about.
Brian,
I can really appreciate what u did 2 your ride and thought an idea like this would be fun to discuss. so chill

well recently i got to thinking about a turbo set up...and it requires a lot of money and time really and maybe two cars. if say do things right the first time through...do not half ass anything. basically i was summing some things up money wise for a good reliable turbo setup and talking about it with a friend and its well atleast 10k easily...it would be a good venture but thats a lot of money if you dont got it. but it also depends on which turbo and yadda yadda yadda. best of luck to you and your ideas they are great, like anything this is a passion and hobby. an expensive hobby but a hobby either way. so good luck and enjoy what you do.

to keep u inspired :)

you dont need to be awd to rally....or even to do well rallying

i was not trying to discourage not my plan, i was just saying that a plan should be divized when making such big changes and that money is an issue as well. i wish i could turbo my car right now and smoke so many cars but i cant afford to :( so woe is me. id love to turbo my p5 it would be sooo nice a good sleeper and ass kicker...but i think id get too many tickets haha...

Anybody giving odds on the likelihood of this happening? I'd like some of that action...

A Similar Project was in the works with xelderx about a year ago, not sure if he went through with it. Last I saw, some unforseen circumstances popped up.

Edit: Here's the Thread

xelderx never finished it up. He got an rx-7 instead.

I really wish you guys (newbs in general) would do some research before you announce a plan like this. I did it when I was new, so I'm not hating, but just look around and read some stuff, learnt SOMETHING about the cars/motors ou're talking about before you tell us your plan (ex. "I didn't know rotories had less torque") Research first, ask questions once you have some earthly idea of what the costs in money, time, materials, etc would be.

I have done my research and thought about the 'Tribute Swap'

The only problem with Zetecs is finding a 4wd drivetrain to match it... I dont think it exists!

I never built this for any reason than for learning.

The spin off is a nice car...

I'm just saying that it's probably too big of a chunk...

You say you've done you research, but you say that right after you said you wanted to put a twin turbo v6 in a protege engine bay. I dont think a TT setup would be neccesary for a 3.0 v6, especially considering how torquey that motor already is. But if it was neccesary, and you really think theres a chance in hell of fitting it in the bay designed for the FS without some serious cutting, you need to do a lot more research man.

well the v-6 swap was suggested by a friend the tt thing was mainly a joke. but it would be interesting to see a v-6 in our car and i beleive some cutting would be made and new axles for the front and the whole driveshaft change and what not. i am not purseing this though if anything id turbo the 4cyl we gots and live with that. but i am unsure if i should go n/a or fi really. and i dont have funds to do much anyways but it was just an idea i threw out there.

Look for the drivetrain off of a V4 Tribute, 4WD... Better yet, find a V6 Tribute 4WD and to the whole swap! Imagine the Tribute V6 Turbo with a refined transmission, in a Rally P5!!!

Haha, just realized something...

I aint thought about dem new v-4's dem bishes are just some mad crazy powerhouses. I definalty need to get me wun uv dems
