(dunno) A friend of mine has an 01' ZX2. It has a 2.0 litre, inline 4, 16 valve, DOHC Ford motor that also puts out 130 BHP normally aspirated. It's called the Z TECH. What is the difference, if any, in our motors? (spin)

That question cant touch the "does forged have a website" question that was on this board a few weeks ago..
Difference between the 2 motors are basicly everything except layout of the motor save for forced induction.

I think the ZETEC & the FS-DE are nearly identical in design & power output. I'm pretty sure they are different motors though.

Heh..the base model Mazda Tribute with the 4 cylinder engine used to use the Ford ZETEC

Both engines are very similar...but not identical

2.0L I4
DOHC
Iron block
Aluminum head
130HP
etc. etc.

"Stupidest"? That sums it up, hehe...j/k.

The Ford Ztec (sp?) has NOTHING in common with any Mazda engine. The specifications may seem similar, but they are, in no way, the same as the Mazda FS series engines. The block is based from an old CVH Ford engine, very similar to that of the SOHC found in all SOHC Escorts (1.6L, 1.9L, and 2.0L). The ztec is strictly a Ford design.

Jersey, I thought the Tribute had always had a V6 (even though the Escape had an I4 option).

My last car was a Ford Focus with a Ztec engine and the difference between that and the MSP is like night and day.
