port campaign sticker in engine bay

poking around today and found a sticker saying:

Port Campaign
Rework: # 747
Port Code: DP
Date: 6/19
P/N: 9999-95-PORW-01

Anyone have an idea what this concerns? Is this just the initial work of making a Protege into an MSP? Curious. The 'Re-work' think has me thinking.

I found it on the driver's side shock tower.

Hmm, definitely don't have one of those. Mabey some sort of work done at your dealer before it got sold. Time for rsearch.

No, you are cool. Maybe it just means that your car got broken into. Go ask the dealer or call Mazda USA. you have a right to know since you bought the car.

I've seen that before in cars and swear theirs were just port numbers...

the port campaign sticker could be the reflash getting done to the cars inthe "port" when it arrives in the states. This could be a " campaign" that mazda is doing so they dont have pissed off owner....and dont have to pay the dealer to do it for free to you........

i know that all the flashes are supposed to have a sticker in the engine compartment to show it was done.. but the date is before the flash came out

so who knows?????

Nah don't be hard Someone will post the reason why those SOB's placed that sticker in there. Probably something was modified in our cars before it reached the Stealerships...maybe a TSB which was never mentioned since it was taken care of before we got the car? eh i dunno I'm pulling things out myself now

he just might have it (ADD) i would definately just go ahead and call the dealership you bought your baby from. if they cant figure it out...call Mazda. post results.

ITs not in my car, and its an 03. Must be a 03.5 thing. Its NOT the flash info either. They cant do that at port. Its gotta get done via a WDS machine, which is at the dealers.
