Piggyback installed

DooMer, when it's time to turbo, why not consider MPI for the whole thing? That way you get everything from one person and there's no mix and matching going on.

There's a good point to what he's saying..I had my turbo'd installed by Andy Wagner..and the MPI Unit installed by Nick..

And whenever there was a problem i had to travel to andy..and now if i have any problems w/ the piggy i have to go to nick..It is def simpler to go w/ 1 company..Especially b/c you will get the best deal from 1 company...when you spend allot $$$ w/ them!

Bigg Tim, just out of curiosity, how much have you spent in total to turbocharge your car?

Like it has been said, this is not only a relatively expensive product

you're kidding right? It's like $500 or $600...the cheapest engine managment on the market, AFAIK.

i was using the greddy emanage..

trying to tune our cars with a piggyback is a waste of time..

:bs:

Tuning our cars with YOUR piggyback was a waste of YOUR time.

Terry got the emanage working fine, and there are a few piggybacks around that would work fine on our car, including the MPI.

It depends on the application. Piggybacks are limited
Dana you havent gotten everything figured out yet on your system. You only control extra injectors and have a FM clamp to help. So it is premature for you to say that. Sorry bud but you cant make that assumption just yet

is it? I mean, does it really do its job?

Well, it runs my injectors...I personally haven't messed with timing, but I know a lot of people who have.

My only issues with it were that
1-i had to retune it a few times
and
2-A few times it went lean once on boost (I guess the injectors never came on), but I'm not sure if it was just bad wiring on my part, or possibly a bad MAP sensor...it's not replicatable.

Ha Ha Ha...I know DANA..I don't wanna drill a hole..to use a wideband..ony to remove the wideband..and have an exhuast leak!

:p

Not in the slightest. Since when did $500 or $600 become cheap? I'm talking in relative terms. I don't think about things that cost $1, $5, $10. Over $10 I start to think about the purchase. Over $100 I don't purchase unless I need it AND can afford it... $500-$600. Thats a good chunk of change. My point is, I want to know what this thing is doing to my car before I fork over that kind of cash!

Yeah, its at a competitive price. But what good is it if I don't trust it?

Me too. And relative to thinks like...a $2k microtech, etc, $600 is cheap.

Can't argue with that.

Right on. I agree. $600 for a piggyback that does fuel and timing is a damn good price! But nonetheless, its not something I'm going to fork over the $$$ for unless I see more examples of people using it without problems, getting proper AFs from a wideband etc. I think we're kind of in agreement then :).

It's not what? The cheapest? What is?
Dana actually the Emanage is the cheapest But that is not the point. This will all become reality for those who will spend to make power reliably.
