Piggyback installed

Those are different parts of the injector map are they not? You can change fuel by rpm. I'm not seeing the problem. It might be there, I don't know, but I would not think it would be an issue. Time will tell. . .time to figure this out! :D

True, But it will likely be a bit tricky to tune based on the numbers you put in the AMP column.

So far i've read just about every post about hte MPI tuner, and have a question that i hope someone can clarify for me. I see that the tuner uses an 80mm MAF. Since the voltage still has to be clamped to 4.98 volts for the stock ecu, how exactly do u tune the extra injectors. Does the tuner read more then the 5.0v from the new maf, but only alows the ecu to see 4.98 volts and then u can add more fuel via the extra injectors? hmmm. confused......

No, it's still only 5v. BUT, it takes more air to get the bigger MAF to output the same amount of voltage that it would with the smaller MAF. Ya dig?

hahah good...im bringing my car up in about 5 moinuites to get the updated version and the boost control solenoid..time to install the **** SWITCH MWAHAHA

So with my mazdaspeed PCM and the MPI tuner, I can retard or advance timing, add or take away fuel, and have no problems with the open-closed loop transition??? All I have seen are you mp3 guys saying it works.

im intrested in this

man...he does more msps than mp3s..i was just up there today and there is actually a MSP coming down from NY tommorow...Nick should have a nice showing for you MSP guys once he gets his project underway

So if I were to use the MPI tuner in conjunction with the larger maf and extra injectors, I could do all those things that I mentioned above without any issues??? I am very, VERY interested.

Yes to all of your questions. We have installed them on a MSP.

Thanks again

Man, I am so close to being sold. Let me think about it for one more day. If anybody can think of any issues at all that may arise with the setup listed below, please voice your opinion.

I will be running a FMIC, CAI, 3" turbo-back, 2 extra injectors, 80mm MAF, flashed mazdaspeed PCM, and the MPI tuner. Boost increase will depend on my mood(laugh).

Thanks

What about issues Turboge found with the Greddy Emanage, and the stock ECU relearning around it?

I do not know that much about the e-manage. I do know that the people that make it do not sell it for the Mazda Protege.

I know that we can add fuel at any point that we need to. I have yet to see this so called "relearning" part of the Ford ECU to be a problem with the MPI Tuner.

Thanks again

i have a wideband02 and a MPI tuner, i have to adjust my maps frequently to keep up with the changes the stock ECU makes. It likes to keep pulling ful.. so i keep adding more.. It is a never ending battle. The main problem seems to be in the 3500 rpm range at WOT.
