Pic of your car and what you love to do!!

ya he has and im trying to get involed in autocross and he has started to rally his car. no he still has his his id he had a really good lawyer. ya we were all being real ignorant i will admit that one. this happen over a year or 2 ago and since then for the most part we have grown up. Trust me i am with you on that one 100% like i said i am working on getting involed in autocross. I just havent figured out how much i would have to pay yet to be involed, so if you have more information on it i would love to have it. i am also trying to get me and my friends off the roads and more to these events because it is better for us as well as the public even thought we know how to drive pretty well, we do need to take it off the streets for good. and im not just saying that because the cops are getting bad.

I thought I was a good driver too, you'll see different when you autox, but then you have a challenge to get better.

Shannon was a good driver too, and he didn't fool around much on the streets, but it only took one time, one mistake. Just to give you an idea, PICTURE, our friend was still inside.

Wow... I was unaware he was still inside in those pics. That makes those ever more wrenching to look at. Sucks that I never got to meet him.

Oh and Wallace, look in the stickies of the GA section there is one on autoxing here in Atlanta. Also check out soloatlanta.com . I highly recommend it! I hope your buddy has an extra car if he is rallying that STi, that is some serious work for a daily driver.

I am looking (only semi-seriously at this point) in getting an autocross beater car. If anyone would like to split funds and co-drive. I'm not gonna submit applications or anything but if it's something you'd be interested in. Cars I was thinking of using were things like 94 Protege (similar to JITB's sig), a Miata if I could snag one for a good deal, or even if I had to, a CRX hatch. Not that I am trying to be "like everyone else" but I am simply not looking to win anything or be unique, I just wanna drive a car as fast as I can around turns without worry of the red and blues being in my rear view.

why not autocross your Spicy, Dale? Pick up a set of rims to put some autocross tires on and run it in stock class...

coughcoughLSDcoughcough... don't know if I'm welded, don't wanna buy a Quaife, and it's my DD. If it breaks, I'm screwed. If I can get the colt up and running (new engine and 5 or 6 spd swap) I'd run it. That might wind up being my cheapest route.

Edit: To answer you fully JA, I've thought about it.

Speaking of the LSD. Are they really that frail? Cause if what I've heard and read is true, then virtually everyone's MSP's LSDs should've been snapped by now.

I autocrossed mine for a season and it was fine...and I've had the car for almost 4 years... *knock on wood* BUT, I also don't launch the car like it's a top fuel dragster on each and every start.

(werd) I think this is the key to a healthy MSP trans....no continuous hard launches or crazy burnouts, its not made for that...

neither is the 1.6L miata's diff. Fortunately, it's a bit of an easier swap lol. I'm pretty much waiting on that thing to grenade. I've got a spare pumpkin w/ a fresh(er) LSD in it sitting in a corner of the garage going "Put me in coach!"

*shrug* my diff made it to over 90k over 40k was of my own driving which included several auto-xs, 2 drag days, moding/demodding/remoding the car and just some general street abuse...finally decided to weld it after I figured I had pushed my luck.

Really doing a couple auto-x's won't hurt it just launch it easy off the start. Figure if you blow it during an auto x it prolly woulda gone out on the street at some point

Ok... sold. However, I still posted a thread about some "Wierd tranny issues" that I am currently getting Prodigy's take on since my thread went practically unnoticed. If you get a second, head over to it (it's in the MSP section) and let me know what you think. I am pretty much letting Chris tell me what to do since he is the tranny guru in our part of the globe.
