perrin fmic install?

has anyone installed the perrin fmic kit? if so do you still have the insrutions? I just bought a kit from another member but I would like to have the instructions so I can make all the cuts at the right spot instead of guessing

sorry to say i can't help you out, but wanted to say i'm glad you got yourself a good intercooler after all that wait.

It aint easy if they made the damn pipes 6 inches too long like thye did mine. Plus you have to relocate your AC dryer and if you kink the line the slightest bit then kiss you AC goodbye. Also you can not run the stock AC core fan becuase it won't clear the IC pipe coming off of the turbo at least mine didn't but again they ****** up my pipes.
Just hold the core up to the car and mark where the holes go. Be prepared to have a harder time cutting through the 1/2 thick steel braket that goes behind your sheet metal in the front. You also have to drop your washer bottle out to get to the bolts that hold the bumper core in.

just start the install and u will figure things out along the way, who cares if it takes u 10 hours(took me 8 hehehe). you will see where u have to dremel when u get to the point, its just two 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 areas so u can clear the pipes. and with the AC condensor, just move it down and to the right ever so slightly but with firm pressure and u will be fine. and the other AC line u ahve to zip tie it behind the frame thing in front of the radiator. just start the install and u will figure the s*** out if u have a small amount of automotive knowledge, stay posted to this thread if u have anymore questions. oh yeah, on your cold pipe(one that connects to the throttle body) put the coupler on the throttle body as much as possible so the pipe doesnt hit the brake thingy, the hardest part is fitting the hot pipe, dont get frustrated bc it does fit, it just takes some finese, HAVE FUN HOMEY!

amen yashooa. lets see id say took me a solid 20 hrs first off. this was after going thru many set backs. both my pipes were almost 2 inches too long. luckily i worked things out with Cullen at ********** and Jeff at Perrin and i gave them measurements and they sent resized pipes. must have been a bad batch or something ive heard of others that had this issue. but yea ac condensor and power steering cooling pump biggest pita of my life. ohyea and i had to use a hacksaw for half the frame cutting. that crap was hardcore stuff too in some places. after all that struggle tho id have to say it was the best mod my car has seen so far. the gains are very noticeable which is always awesome. and you gotta love the bling factor(bling) i been asked many a time about my 'rather large radiator' haha

haha sorry all i did was complain and then praise....ive got a wealth of pictures of my install if you need them. but i wont be able to send them till sept 9th or 10th because im at school right now and all of my stuff is at home...along with my car :( but yea reason im goin home sept 9/10 is for an autox!! so itll be a good reunion

Rock on 608. That was a good post.
Yeah, it is a heck of a big "radiator" lol :)

well I got it al installed. it was actually very straight forward. I started on it thursday and finished it up friday after I got home from work. it took about five hours. after I finished I went up to the track. I was only able to get 2 runs in and I did pick up some time about 4 tenths of a second. I think I could have done better but I didnt have enough time up there.

oh I used a cordless saw-zaw to cut the metal. I have a dremel but I figured that woud have taked forever and I think my dad had my right angle grinder. luckily I didnt cut anything other than the metal

you must not have the real perrin intercooler...5 hrs is way too little time.

no it is a perrin. it was very easy to install. if I didnt surroung myself with all the crap I took off the car I could have have it done faster.

'very easy' and 'perrin front mount intercooler' do not go together in the same sentence

the first time it took us about 6 hours to do it. then we did it again to another car and it took us 2 hours because we knew exactly what we had to do, it is easy

has anyone upgraded to a larger radiator? if so do you have any pics. I can stand the gap that is there now that that baby intercooller is gone

I upgraded to a larger radiater since I intalled the frontmount, I just took the picks tonight still gotta put them in the comp. You can use the brackets off a reg. protege iff needed, You kinda have to rig something up for the fans though
