Painting My Valve Cover & A Few Interior parts [56k beware, I have it and it sucks]

Well I finally took out time to start painting my valve cover black and red.

Here's a few pictures of the progress. I painted the base with a flat high heat black and they I've already painted over that with a high heat black gloss. I will have to paint the lettering by hand. That will be red. I will post the final product when I'm done tomorrow. It got dark so I had to make it a night. I also painted many thing in my interior and I'll post that too.

Here's the first base...

BTW, it's not your 'head' your painting, it's your 'valve cover'. Its looking good though.

It's been modified, but I thought a valve cover was those plastic ones? hmm, well yeah. Fixed.

Looks good but you kinda forgot to remove some things before painting. The bronze washers where the bolts go come out. The rubber bushing for the pcv valve comes out and you left the thermocouple intact. If in the future you do remove them there will be no paint underneath. Other then that the paint job looks good. Red and black is a wicked combination.

nah man we went over this... it goes block, head, valve cover, THEN the plactic thing which is called the engine cover. lol.

good luck with it cant wait to see the finished product

idk if painting the headers would be a good idea...not sure if it would work. more trouble than anything i think. why not just paint the metal thing...its what did. hell ill even trade you the metal things b.c i have hte awr header about to install.

(werd)

have you looked under the heat shield? its a really rough looking part to start with, and its probably pretty nasty and rusty. just paint the heat shield, it will look better and save you a bunch of time.

i just found out that paint eats through styrafoam plates and fumes give you a stomach ache indoors

If you hold a lighter in front of the sprayer you can shoot flames too!

lol this is starting to sound like a bad jackass episode...

Well, here's some almost done pictures. I was bored so I decided to paint inside.

The paint fumes are... kinda... getting.... to meee....
but I think I'll sleep well, lol.

Painting by hand is a bit more harder than I thought. This didnt turn out how I wanted it to, but I hope to make it look nice in the final product. All I need now is a silver or red Mazdaspeed oil cap and red plug wires to go with it.

Mira?
