hmm..what if it rains...

just like the rest of the cars?

i dont think the fog light helps that good on rain, but on fog/haze...

I repositioned them to light where the regular headlights starts to fade. And I mostly use the foglights alone @ night without the headlights.

Plus, I installed the PIAA Ion, which are awesome.

sorry about the confusion but I wasn't talking about visibility, I meant by what if water gets into CAI? removing fog lights means we need AEM splash guard...

in order for there to even be a chance of sucking up enough water to screw up our engines the filter needs to be basically submerged...sport compact did a test on this a while back...i doubt that enough water will be getting in there even with a heavy downpour...

oh yeah...w/o the fogs i don't really like it...maybe if the holes were a little more rectangular but they are too circular making it look like something is missing...just my opinion though

Agreed

it looks like a low-model car that didn't come with the fog light option. I hate cars like that, and if I ever owned one, I would go buy fog lights to fill the emptiness.

grill Mesh it

Maybe uf you put grill mesh on there and on the rest of the grills it could look pretty good.
Just a thought.

but i do too prefer the fogs

They are driving lights...... Not fogs. All they do is cast a low beam @ the corners and out front. :D

They're fog lights. The beam pattern (wide and low with a sharp upper cutoff) is the way fog lights are designed. Driving lights are aimed well down the road to help you see further into the distance. Definitely not what the P5 comes with, although it would be nice.

yup...they're fogs...that's where they're supposed to be aimed low to the ground to help "cut" through the fog and not get any reflection back...they work pretty good to

regardless of whether thier fogs or driving lamps(which their not :) ) re-aim them. Stock aiming sucks. I re aimed mine on the mp3, and it was much better. Stick some good bulbs in them, and it made them much much better

The only thing that could make that look good would be either solid or mesh covers like the STi covers for the corners of the WRX's. I think those look tight on WRX's and if you did a mesh cover that fit nice and painted it body color with, say a sport20, logo on them it would look pretty sick I think. And very unique.

I may just have to do this since you can get the good mesh off ebay for 99cents plus shipping.

actually

now that I stand here and think about it.

I am going to go ahead and get the mesh and mold it hopefully nicely and put it on there WITH the fogs still in. Ill paint the grills body color and maybe do a white paint sport20 on it or maybe just leave it blank.

Ill post when I get it done.

man I get so many ideas just from browsing these forums.

they are fog lights, why would u say that they are driving lights???? lights that are that low to the ground are considered fogs

lets just leave it at they are less than spectacular fog lights.

i personally like it without the fogs. though i would never remove them unless they broke

I like it....

...looks different. He's thinking "outside the box". He now has a P5 with a unique look. Some people will actually want to do this to their P5's now...
