Oil Starvation--Need solutions

I just love where this thread is going. Quite a few options here from a proposed problem. We're almost a functional forum again. Keep up the good work guys.

I am pretty sure the probes use a different oil pan us, but I am no 100% on that.

Yeah, the probe uses the same pan, i think. That's probably where this idea started; www.probetalk.com

How much is a dry sump setup?
A dry sump set-up would be pretty hard to implement on our cars. As the article stated, two oil pumps are required-a feed pump and a scavenge pump. The scavenge pump normally has twice the capacity of the feed pump in order to completely scavenge the oil pan. Although a separate oil tank should not be too difficult to arrange for, the problem of providing a take off drive for the scavenge pump might prove extremely difficult or even impossible without major and expensive design changes to the engine.

Probably a modified oil pan would be a more reasonable way to go.

probes use the same pan, there's a probe pan on my car right now.

I'm definately interested in the oil pan if the GB starts in a week or 2. I need to sell some stuff to afford it.

Ok...goal #1 is to get Moroso to reconsider making some pans for us. I guess Mchaggis is all over that so I'll let him ride that horse all the way into town before I run myself ragged trying to find another solution. I'm already in extreme savings mode to have money for the oil pan ready when they are.

<----Interested. Mazda took care of me when my 1st motor died, but I'm afraid they won't be so nice next time.

Any word from the Miata forum? Sometimes, after driving hard, I swear I hear some kind of...rattle.

Interesting stuff, I'm down for whatever. Definately going to need something for the motor build thats coming up soon, and the track days this car is going to see.
